    There's an acquaintance from high school who does cosplay with his twin brother. Anyway, he's insanely talented (no surprises there: they kicked ass in academics, sports, and socializing), so combined with his natural Asian gifts, can very well pass for a woman. It's hard to say if I'm more jealous or attracted, honestly, and asking would seem crass.

    It could be a coincidence, but surely a male cosplayer *only* doing cosplays as female characters is a sign? After all, another transfeminine friend of mine said she would attend these sorts of events as a sort of "safe" way of going out and not having to worry over being harassed, or whatever.

    They're not ripping off anything that's not copyrighted with that design. It is in no way similar to Sonichu other than it's yellow. So Pokemon cannot be sued. Resume your normally scheduled program and stop thinking stuff is ruined when it's not. You're still gonna be fine, everything is gonna be fine. Pokemon has been around since the 90's and the electric animals have started with a mouse.
