I'm afraid of heights, scared of snakes.

    There's a phobia called "tyrophobia".
It's very ughhh so don't search it up. Like SERIOUSLY DON'T.

I was terrified of needles as a child but not anymore. I don't like the idea of having spiders or snakes too close to me, but I wouldn't say I had a phobia about them.

I have that fear, too. I would never have the mental strength to carry a baby. I think those who do are very brave. When I was really little, I would worry an unnecessary amount that I would get pregnant someday and I wouldn't be able to cope with it. Even nowdays, I'm afraid that if I ever got pregnant, I would go crazy and commit suicide out of fear. I told my mom so, and she said she feels bad for me because pregnancy is a wonderful experience. I don't understand how anyone could feel that way about it. It's just not worth it for me. >.<

Personally, I like that. Especially if it's like, late at night. For example, being inside the hallways of my school after 9:00 PM, because that's when every other light in the hallway shuts off. It looks so dark and cool!

I mean I prefer being alone at school, but else where like in Walmart or the grocery store I'm not fond of being alone.

Ah. I still think the school looks cool in the middle of the night. Every other light in the hallways are kept on for security purposes, which makes for quite a bit of light pollution though.

Do you have security cameras in your school hallways?

No. They have em outside, though.

Inside, in all the high-ceiling areas (lobby, commons, cafeteria, both gyms, library, etc.), they have smoke beams for the fire alarm system. Some people think they're cameras, but they're not. They're smoke sensor beams.

Oh, we have cameras everywhere except for the gym, locker rooms, bathrooms, and classrooms. It's like we have our own NSA, it's really cute.

The problem with the smoke beams is that if anything blocks the beam for more than a few seconds, the fire alarm goes off. So, for example, changing a light bulb in the cafeteria more often than not results in the fire alarm being tripped. That's why they usually do that after school. And they call the alarm company beforehand and tell them to put the system on "do not respond" which means the alarm company won't contact the fire department for any alarm signals received for a couple hours.

Nice. They must have had quite the foresight when they installed them.

Well, they're required by code when you have that high a ceiling. A beam is the best way to detect smoke in that sort of environment.

By the way, back in March, the vice principal let me set the alarm off for a fire drill. It was so fun.

    Doesn't that sound fun, Jude?

Don't you just...pull down one of those red lever thingies? It does, though.

No. Pulling a pull station summons the fire department, and we don't want that for a drill. Instead, on the panel, you:

    - Enter your user code to access the Main Menu
    - Press "1" to access the System Tests menu
    - Press "1" again to select Fire Drill
    - Press "Enter" to begin the drill

At least, that's how it works on the particular panel (Silent Knight 5808) they have at my school.

Huh. Interesting. I remember some kid tripped and fell over and somehow managed to pull the lever. Good times.
