That reminds me - back in the mid 80s, my mom lived in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Her apartment was only a couple miles from O'Hare Airport. You can imagine how nerve-wracking that would be.

I love going! I'm not even joking I'm a total weirdo that way. Maybe it's because I spend so much time there. I can't wait for my silver tooth <3

I'm afraid of poetry because I take things literally. I don't understand metaphors unless its meaning is OBVIOUS. I feel like I'm just reading nonsense.

Fear of pregnancy -- I know the term for this is tokophobia, but all the online resources I've found seem to equate it specifically to a fear of childbirth. In my case, I don't have any more aversion to the birthing process than anyone else, but I've a crippling dread of hosting a foreign entity, feeding it from my own body. I've caught a lot of flack irl for saying so, but I've always perceived embryos as almost parasitic. I can't help it, it makes my stomach turn just thinking about it.

Acrophobia, though that has improved over the years.

Fear of caterpillars. Not worms or anything. Caterpillars. I shudder just typing that word. I'm totally down with spiders though, they're kinda cute.

Like, when I went to Chicago in 2012, the Sears Tower was a bit of a struggle for me.

I can imagine--when I went to the Grand Canyon, we went on the Skywalk. My legs were basically jelly at that point.

I just can't put into words the feeling the ocean gives me in the inside. I'm not even particularly scared of something killing me. It just gives me an irrational fear. Like I could be sucked down and never come back or I don't even know. While I swam a week ago, my mom had to consistently distract me by having me talk about my favorite video games and movies to her but when she wasn't doing that, I went into total panic mode. Just watching videos of other people swimming in the ocean gives me shivers.

The Skywalk was still under construction at the time I went to the Grand Canyon (June 2008). But yeah, skyscraper observation decks are both exciting and frightening to me. Like, if I ever go to New York, I'm definitely gonna visit the Empire State Building and the new World Trade Center, but I'll have to deal with my fear of heights.

Spiders and insects. Fuck them. I could deal with living on a farm if I didn't have to pressure hose earwigs out of my cooler and regularly sweep spiders out of my room.

Yeah. Of course, I don't know if I'll ever be lucky enough to go to New York.
