I'm a semi-practicing Hindu, which is why I can't call myself Agnostic/Semi-Agnostic even if I wanted to. I choose what part of Hinduism I want to practice and do so.

Atheist certainly... though "Secular humanist" is another fitting, yet more specific term.

Wasn't taught it, had to learn on my own and lean towards where I feel has the most morality and credible evidence.

Atheist/Agnostic, though am deeply fascinated by world religions, especially with regards to the role it plays in politics, with a special interest in how fundamentalist religions influence governments and policies.

Wow, I know that being LGBT can make you less likely to follow a religion because of how most aren't accepting, but I'm surprised that so few EC members seem to be members of an organized religion. :/ Not that that's a bad thing though...

I'm an atheist. Nobody has provided sufficient evidence to support the god-hypothesis, therefore I don't believe it. Now if somebody comes up with some real proof (man, if you can prove god, you're going to get some nobel prizes!) I'll change my mind. Until then, I don't believe it.

Practicing Christian (Liberal Catholic tradition of the Church of England/Anglican).

There are quite a few Christians on EC actually, but they are too busy praying at the moment to respond to the poll.

It's fair to say that more of our members are atheist or agnostic, but religion plays an important part in the lives of a significant minority of EC's membership and that's why we insist on respect and tolerance of belief, even if we disagree.

I think that God probably exists but not in the way my Christian parents believe. Right now I just don't think I fit in at any church or religious group but I guess I believe in love and being a good person. Throw in some karma and some supernatural stuff and I think that's as close to a description of my religion as I can get. I guess I am spiritual. Or something. Idk. -Ky

    Agnostic.

I'm not too comfortable with the idea of a supreme being or creator, but I can't say for sure something like that isn't out there somewhere.

Agnostic is the closest for me. I don't believe in any deity, nor do I disbelieve in any deity. I just don't care about all that, it isn't very interesting to me. I do take interest in the arts and culture of religion at times, though. Also, more philosophical religions like Taoism and (I think the Theravada branch of) Buddhism can at times quite captivate me for its philosophy.

I've been an atheist for as long as I can remember.

One thing I really like about my parents is that they let me decide for myself what to believe. Both of them come from religious families (mother's side is Muslim, dad's is Catholic) but they're both agnostic. Sure, around Eastern and Christmas they would tell me the stories behind why they are celebrated because I was curious. I just never believed them. I can still recall the surprise I felt in second (?) grade when I realized religion is a thing (sorry if this was slightly offensive).

The only exception I can think of is when my mother asked me what I believed and I said I was an atheist and she told me that I can't know and she seemed to try convincing me to call myself agnostic. This was weird considering that atheism and agnosticism aren't all that different. My definition of agnostic means not knowing or caring how the Earth and human race were created. Of course I can't go back in time to see but I'm pretty sure there isn't a sentient being that created the Earth and the Universe so I consider myself an atheist.

I suspect most individuals saying this are referring to LaVeyan Satanism.
