What is the best energy drink you've ever had, both tastewise and most effective? I'm talking about drinks like Monster, NOS, Rockstar, Redbull... Basically soda with added caffeine or other supplements.

Or if you can think of another beverage which is energizing, list that too.

Energy drinks don't perk me up like the use to, but I love Monster Ultras and certain flavors of Rockstar. I don't know if anyone still carries this (unless it got banned again), but Cocaine is highly caffeinated and should give you a jolt of energy.

Cocaine, as in the name of an energy drink (I hope)? You don't mean the drug, am I right.

Energy drinks are overrated from what I've heard ( never tried them myself )

I've never had an "energy drink." I've had tea and coffee and cokes but that's about it.

I think I've only ever tried Redbull, I don't really drink energy drinks.

Yeah. I heard it was banned because of the name, but I don't know. They have three versions; the original, "mild" version (which is basically the same thing minus the "burn"), and sugar free.

Drinking monster is like taking some kind of drugs. All of them are packed with sugar unless you get the nasty tasting sugar-free varieties. If you have to, go with a supermarket brand no/low sugar but best to avoid really. Why do you want to use them anyway?

Best energy drink in my opinion and many scientists - water.

No Fear is pretty good but I warn you now caffeine is addictive; I have had a caffeine addiction for more than a year and have only just managed to quit.

    Full Throttle original/citrus.

I really love the "Lemonade Amp" that they phased out a few years back too.

Tastewise? 911. Gladiator is also really good, just not as good. Redbull is ok. It has been so long since I tried Monster that I can't remember the taste, but it will always hold a special place in my heart for sparking a small wave of satanic panic across conservative households in the US. Nothing gives me more schadenfreude than the thought of uptight christian moms getting their panties in bunch over whether or not Satan is trying to recruit their children through energy drinks. Hilarious.

In terms of effectiveness? None. Energy drinks do nothing for me in the energy department. I can chug them like water, but if I'm tired I'm going down regardless. Then again, I can say the same about coffee, tea, coke, and any other caffeinated drink I've ever tried. I don't know what is about me and caffeine but it does jackshit for me, so I only go by taste, and in that regard energy drinks are just another soda.

I was only into energy drinks for a short amount of time, but most of what I drank during those days came from the red bull family :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Taste-wise, lime and cranberry are the only red bull editions that particularly ticked my fancy (even though I do find the cranberry edition has a weird crayola aroma), but i dont find the original flavour especially appaling.

Most other energy drinks were wayyy too sugary for me to find enjoyable. Other than the Bull, I mostly just used energy shots, and that was just mostly five hour energy. I liked the green apple flavour the best, I think, but really, after the initial flavour hits you, all five hour energy pretty much taste exactly the same.

These days for daily energy, I just drink tea (coffee occasionally). I find it's much easier to manage how much caffeine (and sugar) I'm putting into my system. If I want a tea to tide me over for the evening, I'll choose something with mid-low caffeine levels, but if I'm starting the day, I'll choose a tea with more punch. I also find the whole tea culture super interesting, and love all of the cool flavour pairings available.

I really like energy drinks, especially since my body has a high tolerance for caffeine, so coffee and tea don't do much for me. My personal favourites are Monster Ultra Red and Rockstar Fruit Punch.

After they sent me two the ER twice, I swore them off. Weaned off of them after 3 years of being addicted from 2009 to 2012. I am on blood pressure meds probably for life after that shit. If you must indulge, drink tea or coffee in moderation. Red Bull, Monster, Rockstar etc, and even 5 hour energy all have very horrible additives.

I tend to drink Boost a lot because it's cheaper. But my favorites have to be among Relentless or Monster tbh

You could also just order powdered cafein online and mix it with something healthy instead of a ton of sugar. Will probably work better too

A salad sent me once to the ER (long story).

All in moderation is good, and to listen to the body at all times. You can get killed even by doing sports, or anytime 'cause your heart just stops, as in 'sudden death' which seems to be now on the rise for whatever reason. It's hard for doctors to determine the real cause of many sicknesses, and deaths. Body is one of the most complex organic machines we know, and linked to the brain, which won't be probably ever understood fully.

The bad press energy drinks have is just lobby pressure from certain companies. They are safer on the long run than other choices from the mentioned companies... Except for water, water is good for all creatures on earth and mars, and special snowflakes as well.

Anyways... What is good for others might not be the best choice for you, that's another truth as well.

There is some blood on my coffeine. Been on it for life, and I won't quit ever. It's a ritual, a way of life and one of my most dearest addictions. Tea is another pleasure, but there is nothing like a good cup of coffee.

Energy drinks? Red Bull, sugarless, the timeless classic. It works, tastes good and goes with anything as well, I always have cans around.

So... Red Bull sugarless, or a handful local energy drinks you've never heard of.

    When I was younger, "Vault."

Then Bawls (Which I still drink. Not effective, but tasty!)

Then SoBe. (Again, no real effect, but delicious.)

Then to Monster, which still will keep me awake.

And now if I'm getting one, I reach for Surge.
