    And thus is begins.

This won't be the last time this happens. And the cops were way out of line as well.

So now the fun part about this is the only stories we're going to see in the news are cisgender people getting kicked out of the bathroom.

Then and only then will people care.

Also, are our cops so badly trained that they think a woman taking a shit is a threat to them? If so, we need to get them OFF of the force and INTO high school gym class!

This is bullshit all around. This was an absolutely disgraceful reaction, and would've been if she was trans. Nobody should be treating a non-violent offender (especially over shuch a rediculus law that promotes and enforces outright bigotry) like this. And disobeying police orders warants an ass-kicking and public humiliation, somehow? I hope they get the shit sued out of them.

After they made it clear they were detaining her they had to take control of the situation. But come on now, it's a woman in the crapper. They couldn't have waited to make contact? And no misdemeanor offense is worth pulling someone out of a bathroom stall and tasing them.

This is exactly the witch hunt that was inevitable once the foaming-insane law went into action.

The officers should also be labeled sex offenders.

Sure, they can detain her, but they must wait, as you said...

I maintain my position. I would not tolerate having a sheriff in that county whose deputies display such awful judgment.

I didn't mean to imply they were in the right. That sort of behavior is a mile out of decent treatment.

    Sorry, I'm just upset :frowning2:

What upsets me is they probably would have done worse if she was trans.

Maybe thirty more times plus a few deaths and a riot or two, and maybe then the governor and NC will realize their pitiful excuse for a law isn't doing any good, and instead harming innocent civilians. We already knew it was from the start.

These are the "small government" folks, people. :eusa_doh:

Unbelievable and sickening. Truthfully, if it was a mass murderer in the bathroom I would expect the cops to treat them better...this is a black mark on the state and in many ways on the country as it does beg the question why aren't the leaders doing something to fix this situation. How can this even happen in this day and age... :icon_sad:

I can't help think of a special government session that I watched that happened in the UK in which they discussed the problems that transgender people face and how to help us cope and make our lives easier. Such a huge difference in perception...

It looks like this is a most likely a hoax .... the picture on the site of the link is a picture of the lesbian couple Mary Lee Bradford and Mary Jamis who were arrested in May 2012 in North Carolina for not leaving due to being refused to leave a government office where several gay and lesbian couples were turned away.

The civil disobedience(in 2012) followed a day after President Barack Obama publicly endorsed same-sex marriage, and two days after North Carolina voters overwhelmingly passed a constitutional amendment that defines marriage as solely between a man and a woman.

........but if this wasn't a hoax(hypothetical) I stand by my statement that the officers that opened the door and forced her out should be labeled sex offenders if this ever happened for real....whether the abused person was a bio woman or trans.

No problem...the article seemed very real......not your fault. Looks like we have to be on the lookout for fake sites regarding these horrible anti-LGBT laws. I fell for one about HB2 earlier this week....the site said the NBA all-star game was not going to play in Charlotte in 2017 which wasn't true in that the NBA hadn't released anything about HB2.

The fact that something like this is going to happen eventually, or has already happened, makes me angry, though.

    Fuck bigotry.

The whole news site is parody. Just check out the other news stories:

"Japanese Whaling Crew Eaten Alive By Killer Whales, 16 dead"
"Yoko Ono: ā€œI Had an Affair with Hillary Clinton in the ā€™70sā€"
"Ethiopia: Boy Wins a Record 58 Cows on National Lottery"

    From the "about us" section:
"World News Daily Report is an American Jewish Zionist newspaper based in Tel Aviv and dedicated on covering biblical archeology news and other mysteries around the Globe.

Our News Team is composed of award winning christian, muslim and jewish journalists, retired Mossad agents and veterans of the Israeli Armed Forces."

Since I am not trans, I am not sure exactly what it is like to be that way, so excuse me if I say anything wrong.

But, are there really that many people who care? Like, unless someone would be naked and staring at me, reciting the star-spangled banner.....then I really don't care who's in the bathroom. I go to the bathroom to go to the bathroom. That's about it. I don't get what's the big deal here. So that's why bills like this make no sense. You're going to make someone who looks like a man (but "isn't") use the ladies room...what a great idea!
