I kind of agree with both comments; nobody can tell another if they are or aren't ''religious enough'' to be religious, as belief is what an individual makes it, but what I'd like to ask Trump is; would you like it if society built a wall so you couldn't get in? [the whole ''treat others how you wish to be treated'' rule]. I saw on a post here in another topic that Jesus allowed slavery, does that mean he's not Jewish enough? The next fight [respectful fight with words] I'd really like to see is get a high influential LGBT member to be in a room with Pope Francis and talk for/neutral/against LGBT and/or religion. Sorry if you think this is an offense for me to suggest this, it's just kind of frustrating being in between the two so I'd like highly committed religious and LGBT member to discuss it who don't have ties to the other.
Re: Daily Beast title: Nah he didn't. The Pope just made himself look like an idiot. Behold the Vatican City:
Gotta side with Trump on this one. Also, I'm all for keeping the Syrians out of America and building a wall. Mexico has turned into a failed state of Mad Max proportions. I predict that Mexico will be annexed by either the United States or a South American country at a date no later than 2030. Also, isn't Daily Beast a British tabloid?
“If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been president.” Pfft, okay mr Duck, sure. Although I do find it funny that the most popular republican candidate, at the moment, wants to create a wall; it's somehow reflective and symbolic of where the conservative majority (of republicans) has been heading, and it's ironic considering who most republicans hold in high regard. Not that Francine much better. Really, this is just a wang waving contest to see who is the better simian.
Tell me this, is your house a free-for-all / your neighbour can walk in any time unannounced if he or she wishes?
Smooth - skirting a question by replying with another question:lol: And that sounds like a great idea.
*shrugs* For everyone but the neighbors. I did enjoy the Pope's statement considering what The Vatican is surrounded by. Trump's responses were pretty hilarious too.
Honestly I'd rather have the catholic pope as president than Donald Trump and yes I am serious. Of course the catholic pope is not even a US citizen but still the pope would be more suitable for the job.
I wouldn't put too much value on the ramblings of a 70-year-old virgin who tries to tell others what kind of sex to have and how. It's not like I go telling the Pope how he should be spending the Church money.
And I agree. At least the Pope is able to show kindness and compassion. Trump is a miserable, egotistical, hateful swine, unsuited to be elected commissioner of drains, let alone any higher office.
This new Pope can present himself as being progressive all he wants, that doesn't change the fact that he's still in charge of a massive congregation of kiddie-diddlers.
Given the women that Trump has dated, and the huge age gaps (24 years), I bet he's cuddled a few kiddies in his day; he has that creepy look to him.
Honestly, I think Pope Francis should just have stayed out of this. He probably just got Trump a few more votes.
Totally agree, Donald Trump may represent the worst of Capitalism and of course his career has been made off of dealing with mobs and such, but the Pope is even worse; at best he's just a condoner of child molesters, and at worst he's partook in it. Of the two, I would say Pope Francis is the far greater evil.
Actually Pope Francis has been a signal of change in the church and thanks to him and other church leaders most names of the priests accused of child abuse have been revealed and some of these cases were over fifty to sixty years ago. It is sad of course that there was a abuse of power within the church but please don't paint all priests or catholic church leaders with the same brush. Even though I am no longer Catholic I believe Pope Francis put the church in a different direction and i appreciate some of the things he said or done.
Again, I agree. The Catholic church doesn't have a monopoly on child abuse. I'll make no excuses for their past, but having been abused by a family member whom nobody would have expected, it sometimes gets to me that everyone always point to the Catholic church as if it's sole source of all molesters, when they could be anyone. And I still think Trump is a much more petty, selfish, mean person than the Pope, hands down.
