I'm trying to find scary movies for me and my friend to watch. Our favorites are Sinister, The Conjuring, Annabelle, and Insidious. We are interested in watching movies that were made between 2000-2015. We are also more interested in supernatural movies, like ghosts, aliens, demons, etc. So please list your best scary movies!

Well...it's more suspense then horror, but I did enjoy Crimson Peak very much. It's set in the early years, when technology was still in the developing stages. The story follows a woman of a well-known engineer at that time and her ability to see ghosts, when she marries a business man and moves in, along with his sister into Crimson Peak.

Sounds pretty boring, but it's really amazing. There are a few jumpscares, if that's what your into, but it's mostly suspense, not horror. I loved it. (It's not hardcore horror, since I've never been a horror fan, but it's good.)

Though they might not be in your time range, Saw and The Human Centipede are good shows. Candyman and the Nightmare Before Christmas are also good~ Not in your time range, though. Hope I could have been of some help?

There's also one more that stars Jennifer Lawrence as she delves into the memories of dead people or something along those lines...well crafted, artistic horror. Scared the bejesus outta me the first time I saw it. Will get back with the title if I can find it.

(Some other titles: The house at the end of the street, Unfriended, The Cell (the one I mentioned) and Dumplings (it's Chinese, but GOOD)

I have been wanting to see Crimson Peak. I may give it a try. I vowed to never see Saw. Something about movies that are purely about torture don't sit well with me. I've seen part of The Human Centipede and it was just too disgusting, lol. Thanks for your reply!
I've seen most of these except Drag Me to Hell. I'll admit, that one looks scary as f***. I'll probably give it a try! Thanks so much!
I'm looking for movies in a 2000-2015 time-frame. Though, HoHH looks good. I'll put it on my list. Thanks!
My friend has seen The Babadook and It Follows. She said they sucked. :frowning2: I saw The Visit and HOLY SHIT that was a good one. At first it seemed lame, but it surprised me toward the middle and end. Nana was a freaky bitch! XD Unfriended is on my list. I heard it's pretty good. Thanks!
I've seen IT. Usually movies that are in that time-frame don't scare me but, IT actually freaked me out. Great movie. The second one you recommend is on my list as of now. Thanks so much!

    howl (2015) train werewolf thing

OMG I love / hated "Mama". I had to pause so many times because it was just too scary and I don't normally get scared from movies haha. I recommend you watch it while slightly hiding behind a pillow. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    - Shutter (Thai version): Scary as fuck, guaranteed to make you paranoid for a few weeks ahaha
    - Ghastly
    - Hansel and Gretel: I'm not sure why this is classified as horror. I only remember seeing one scene that made me creeped out. If anything, its genre should be supernatural. Some settings reminded me of Alice in Wonderland. Yeah... it's not really that scary but it's alright
    - The Wig

My conclusion is that most Asian horror movies are disturbing as fuck, but that's what makes a good horror movie, right?

EDIT: Mama is another good horror movie. I think it falls under supernatural as well? That might be something to consider watching.

Unfriended was definitely a scary one...of course it didn't help that I was in the dark watching it on my laptop.

You should really try some of the classics, they're much better than modern films imo.

Constantine's depiction of hell is extremely unnerving to me. But it was a good horror/action movie.

Devil by M Night Shamalan was actually pretty good.

The Exorcist and original Halloween are still to this day some of the best horror movies ever.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I've added some of these to my list. Friday night I watched a new one called The Veil. It's a 2016 movie, but my friend's husband is a member to a website that allows people to watch current movies. Anyway, it was really scary. I definitely jumped a lot and was glued to the screen in horror.
