Fun thing is, there was just another thread about how Cartoon Network in UK censored a scene with lesbian romance.

Not to mention the thing about Princess Bubblegum and Marceline from Adventure Time. (I heard something about that statement being retracted, but it was several months afterwards and I have a feeling they just didn't want people to get all hyped up about it).

I think what Cartoon Network is doing is great. Although I hate most of their shows, I like how it's some of the only good shows with LGBT characters.

IDK if Cartoon Network did it, but I really like Rick and Morty, and in that Rick is openly pansexual. Also there have probably been a few one-off characters that were gay / bi.
    Genuine plot spoiler >
Also there is that one episode where Jerry and Sleepy Gary had some romance.
Even though Sleepy Gary turned out to be a mind parasite which created false memories and didn't really exist, it could be a case of Jerry being homosexual / bisexual and just not having met a real person yet who he would fall for.

EVIL UK! I read about a gay kiss (between two guys) being censored, too. I don't get to watch TV a lot because my family doesn't have cable (or a TV). The only place I get to see it is when we go to hotels (which we do a lot).

I know, and it seems so petty to censor something so trivial as that. Ugh.

I saw a video about dirty jokes in gravity falls once, the guy listed a gay couple as a dirty joke (even though the show only suggests they are) two male cops, one of them comments on it being a great day and the other says that everyday is a great day with the first cop around. basically heavily suggests they are a couple, no idea why thats dirty

It's good to know there are some optimistic people here, instead of just people venting about unneeded censorship and gay couples being dirty jokes<--(btw I hate that youtuber for doing that).

I wonder how long it's going to be before I see a m/m romantic relationship on a children's cartoon. Interestingly, Pretty much all LGBT characters I know of on American kids shows are female (except that couple from Clarence that had 10 seconds of screen time). Me thinks it's because lesbian romance is seen as more palatable for day time children's television though it could be a major coincidence.

There's also an implied gay couple in another episode of Clarence when he's staking out one of his teacher's dates.

Steven Universe has a lot of great LGBTQ undertones, with the book about the crystal gems (which is canon, since it's written by the creator) that one of the gems has experimented with male forms, and a few other things.

CN has a lot of guts and I love it.

And 10 years later transgender characters show up.

If you understand how fusions in Steven Universe work, and if you follow along, you know we'll be introduced to more characters... I'm guessing there will be more LGBT characters. It's how Rebecca Sugar has placed the gears. There's no end to LGBT characters unless we stop getting more characters or the show gets fully cancelled.

I would love the show Arthur (PBS/CBBC) to have LGBT characters. Reason being is that the show teaches children about a wide variety of lifestyles and medical conditions so I think this would be a great show to teach about it because it wouldn't be strong political episodes but would just be saying ''some people are ...'' as it does with anything else the show talks about. It's aimed at kids 7-12 but there's many older views [some as old as 40].

CN has the balls to do it, but not Disney Channel or Nick? That's why I love CN. It has and had great shows. (except Uncle Grandpa and Teen Titans Go! (too many episodes shown.)) Wait, nvm, Disney had a show that had an episode featuring lesbian moms. But that's it.
