I tried watching a documentary on them once. I got about halfway through it and I couldn't even finish it; they enraged me that much. They've got the title "Most Hated Family In America" for a reason. I'd put my unvarnished opinion of the WBC here, but I'd probably get banned for it.
I mean they are ignorant. I mean if Jesus were alive, he would tolerate and accept everyone. I mean Jesus hanged out with poor people, hookers, drunks, and everyone. If we were alive in 2015, he'd hang out with alcoholics, drug addicts, poor people, rich people, gay, straight, transsexual people. I guess the Westboro Church seemed to forget the teachings of Jesus in the bible. The Bible has some complex contradictions. If everyone followed the Bible to a T, you'd have people follow Exodus 21:7: selling a daughter to slavery. I mean WTF. The basic teaching of the Bible and with Jesus to be a better person. The Bible itself is just riddled with contradictions that are archaic.
I've seen the videos when they we're talking at a college. And they said initially it wasn't about all the hateful stuff they do now. They started because people we're having sex in a public park I believe and then that's when they started to protest and have signs and banners about dead soldiers and lgbtqa people... I forgot some stuff. I should probably watch the video over. The only thing that pissed me off is how she talked to that one girl. I really wanted to k.o. this chick.
Isn't that the Church where the gay house is right across the street from it. But yes they're horrible and I hate the fact they shove something in a Child's face that will lead the kid to grow up thinking that way. It's a never-ending cycle of terrible.
I went to a lecture given by Nate Phelps, it was really fascinating. He escaped when he was 18. He snuck out in the middle of the night and got out. The brainwashing tactics he described by Fred is astounding. They are a cult.
These are the type of people that make it seem that all Christians are horrible ignorant homophobics. Indirectly, it makes other people think that all MOGAI people are athiests. I'm a Christian and it's not "Christian" to hate anyone. And God is Love so He definitely does not hate gay people. So sad, how full of hatred these people are.
Did you ever see those videos of your man with the glasses and his friend who is a girl going around asking them fake questions with a dildo microphone
Honestly, I consider them to be evil and pray for their destruction just as I pray for the destruction of ISIS.
You know, a lot of people don't know this, but they actually do make parodies of songs. Hearing her (bad) singing kind of reminded me of them. They have a ton on YouTube. Some are hilariously bad. Here's an example of what I mean...
The rich weren't a people He spent much time with, though I agree with everyone else in your list. As for Westboro, they are nothing but a distraction. They are akin to a dog that may bark a lot but has no real bite. They are there to agitate. Which is why I believe they shouldn't get nearly as much attention as they do. The real people to worry about are those Christians that think you're nothing but filth because of your sexuality. Those that have the bark and the bite. The only thing that's stopping them from putting into practice the Old Testament tradition of stoning is the law forbidding them from doing so. And there are a lot more of them than Westboro. I say this as a Christian myself, mind you.
It always bothers me when I see hateful comments towards hate groups because it makes it sound like we are just as hateful as they are. The world needs more peaceful protests, not more wars.
They want to kill us? Well, I don't feel threatened by 50 year old 200 lbs human beings whose only form of weight lifting is a half-pound sign.
