OK, time for a less serious poll!

So, let's have the truth, here:

Did you ever eat paste as a kid?

I didn't, but I'll have to admit I was quite curious why so many others did. Maybe I'll put trying some on my 'bucket list'

    Nope, never did it.
Though it was popular to put it on your hands and peel it off when it was dry.

As I recall, it had a kind of minty smell to it...

    Paste as in... glue?

    EmptyClosets.com does not advocate this.

I ate a lot of things on the basis of liking the smell when I was very young, like crayons and stuff. I was pretty dumb when I was little.

I never ate it that I recall. I never had any interest in doing so. But I'm not sure it was ever "yuck."

It's like glue, used to attach things to other things. It differs from glue in that it is thicker. Glue can often be applied by pouring. Paste gets taken out with some sort of applicator, which is used to apply it to the thing to be pasted.

I don't advocate it either, but I suspect that paste intended for kids is purposely as non-toxic as possible.

One DIY paste is flour and water, and that would be probably as safe as it gets, unless you eat enough to choke to death...

If paste is flour and water I've definitely had it before.

I ate Play-Dough once when I was little. Don't try it, it's rather bitter and gross, I can still remember the taste today. Paste though? No way!

Paste and glue I did as a child. Probably why they made sure it was non "toxic" at some point. A few posts before didn't know what paste was. The peanut butter form of glue you spread on what you wanted to stick to paper before someone invented the glue stick. Hahaha.

It's also available commercially, but that would have a different set of ingredients. The commercial stuff seems more likely to be used in a school classroom.

And yes, I've probably had the flour/water mix...or something close to it at some point in my life.
