This question may sound superficial, but I am asking this question as someone with acne, who feels like it holds him back. I've struggled with acne for about the last 5-6 years, but it has been at its worst the past 3 years. Being surrounded by numerous people with clear, beautiful skin makes me self-conscious about it. I feel like it has held me back in the past and it will continue to as long as I have it. To make it worse, I feel like more people in LGBT community have very nice skin. Is my acne terrible? No... but my face is far from clear. Would you date someone with acne? Another question if you had acne in the past / now. Do you feel like it holds you back? This is just a curiosity thing. I have no problem with you being honest; I would actually prefer you to be honest. All answers are appreciated, thanks!
Acne doesn't bother me at all. I have struggled with it in the past, but I wouldn't say it held me back.
If I'm going to be honest, from the pictures I looked up on google, I didn't find it attractive. But that's not what I look for in a relationship, I look for that my basic requirements to be filled and then on personality. As long as they understood the reason I'm not kissing them isn't due to the acne, and is due to the fact [as of presently] I find kissing scary and gross to anyone and that they shouldn't take it personally.
Hmm well now not much, but I had acne before. It was never severe, just annoying pimples. I don't really care if other people have it honestly, it doesn't necessarily affect how attractive I perceive them to be. & if I liked them in the first place acne would be the least of my concerns. lol so yes, I would.
I have some acne myself: just little red dots on my face rather than anything serious. I would be happy to date someone who has acne: if we are attracted to one another, it's not a problem. And acne isn't contagious as far as I know.
I think a pimple or two isn't bad. (Weirdly, it might even be cute if it's small and hardly noticeable). Although, too much acne and I just can't. I tend to break out, but I have this acne cream that actually works so I use it to stop my acne (now my face is clear). Whenever I run out, though, I start breaking out and I feel disgusting. I feel like my face is greasy and red and bulgy.
Yes! Acne sucks, but if a guy is my type, it's not going to stop me from wanting to make sweet love to him.
Actually that wouldn't bother me all that much to be honest. Dating a person with acne would probably just make me feel more relaxed with my own acne problem. Not entirely sure why though but it tends to make me insecure when everyone around me has this super perfect skin.
Of course, if I found them otherwise attractive. I've had really bad acne since I was really young, so I understand how it feels.
Aside from the probability of there being an awkward age gap, sure, as it generally goes away in time, and doesn't strike me as any big deal.
I would definitely date someone with acne, lol. I never had acne problems really, but there were attractive people who had acne that I was quite into. My best friend has acne around her face and neck, and I consider her very beautiful. The worst thing about acne is what it does to your confidence. Just know that you see it 10x worse than other people. It's not as bad as you think
Yeah. I also battled acne and won: thanks Accutane! I will say I would probably encourage him (and maybe go with him) to a dermatologist because I'm sure his self-esteem would want to control it. I wouldn't force him to seek medical help, if the severity warranted it, but I'd give him some insight of my own struggle when I was younger. (I didn't control my acne till I was 24 and probably would have had it for a longer time had I not sought treatment from a doctor; for some it just doesn't "go away" with age.)
I have and probably would, it just depends. Honestly, I don't mind the redness or scars that much, but the pus does gross me out a bit so while I don't think you're necessarily encouraged to pop them... the appearance is better once they are imo....... Accutane is poison. It was previously a chemotherapy drug (explaining why it is linked to stomach problems (crohn's, IBS, ulcerative colitis), hair loss, etc -- the typically fast-reproducing cells that are affected by chemotherapy).
I still struggle with acne at the age of 21. Epiduo and Acanya are my drugs of choice. Epiduo can be spendy, but I've liked the results. I still get acne but it's not as prominent unless I forget to put it on for awhile. So hell yeah.
