    Hello,

You say 'men' but then 'trans women' so is this MtF or FtM gender? Sorry if my ignorance offends, but better to ask then assume. Thank-you.

This would be able to work for theoretically anyone born without a uterus, so men and Trans Women (MtF).

    I'll pass.

Few things terrify me more than the idea of having a baby. And even more horrifying would be having it myself...I mean, where would it come out, even if they did install this new organ?

    ~

But I am happy it's an option for others, though, to whom this might be helpful!

That's cool for trans women, and cis girls who've had to get theirs removed for whatever reason.

That would make me happy actually... I don't know if I want to personally get pregnant or anything but having the option would really mean a lot...

This is awesome, though it shocks me how far Science has come. I'm still a skeptic about if this will ever get finished, but if it does I'll accept it with open arms for those who want it. Personally, I would prefer to get mine removed, since I don't want kids or get pregnant. :/

OMG! Yes, this exactly. I'm pretty sure I want to be a mom, but I don't know whether I'd like to adopt in either case. But to actually have the option - that would be so great! :')

This is why trust science to bring about the future, rather than somebody nobody can prove even exists. Progress. :icon_bigg

This is going to sound really weird, but is this something that would be available to cis males? I know it sounds really weird, but I would like to have a baby someday and if I could have a baby that's biologically mine that would be really great. Again, probably sounds dumb, but I'm just curious.

Well ethically it could be argued if transwomen were eligible for receipt of donation there should not be a line preventing men.

    However logically talking:
    1. This would be MAJOR surgery, and incredibly risky
    2. If you wanted a working uterus for the purpose of childbirth you would likely have to sacrifice your male genitalia, take strong female hormones plus strong anti-rejection hormones, and even then there are no guarantees.

To be honest I just struggle to see how this would work for transwomen/men. they just don'e have the same physiology to allow insertion of a womb, plus any birth would have to be done by caesarean which would likely damage the transplanted womb beyond repair.

And as transwomen and transmen do not have female DNA I just can't see the body "understanding" the new implant. Transplanted hearts/lungs etc cross gender (male heart to female recipient etc) pose a siginificantly increased risk of rejection - I'd imagine if implanting something totally "foreign" like a womb the body would panic and reject like crazy. It would be like transplanting testes onto a bio female body - can't see it working, the DNA would surely render them incompatible. At best I could see the body treating it like an non-functioning "appendage".
