Forcing a certain group of people to wear a certain article of clothing to distinguish them from the rest of the group in the name of God? This sounds awfully familiar...
You know when you have that old relative who is constantly spouting crazy racist/homophobic/ bigoted things so you stop taking them out in public and just stay in whenever you visit them? That's what I think about when I hear Pat Robertson... his family needs to be like, "Oh Grandpa~~ let's go sit you on the couch at home so you can tell us ALL ABOUT dressing up those sodomites~" as they mouth apologies to everyone else in the room.
If Pat Robertson believes I'm a man, and therefore heterosexual, would he still let me have a Deviant Sodomite t-shirt?
He tried to get my favorite song - Quicksand Jesus by Skid Row - banned from the airwaves in the early 1990s. If you think the anti-gay stuff pisses me off....
Kind of unrelated, but my friends thought of/are thinking of renaming their band The Heterophobes. On another note, stuff like this always makes me kind of pity people living in the US. Not to be condescending, of course - but sh*t like this just makes me go like "............ huh?" every time, while it seems to happen a lot over there.
Been there, done that Pat. We got the Pink Triangle's to prove it. Sorry, Pat. Your idea is not unique.
It's not there yet unfortunately, but at some point the people behind CBN are going to suffer a decrease in donations and have to put a muzzle (like selective editing or something) on the guy. His mental deficits are only going to get worse over time. Ironically, some people that study psychology have speculated that many of the religious edicts of the prophets in the ancient religions had their directives from God about the time they became elderly, things that are now engraved in the Bible and other religious texts as the "word of God."
I have always wondered why God only talks to elderly televangelists and prosperity gospel pastors these days.
I think we can all agree to do that the second every Christian refrains from wearing mixed fibres as per the book they so heavily rely on.
