Well that's basically what it says! Are you a caller or a texter? With me, I am a huge texter! I truly hate talking on the phone unless I truly have to because of family members or making doctor's appointments but other than that, I text most of the time! What about you guys?
I'd rather talk, because I hate typing, and it feels slow/forced. It's just much quicker/easier to talk. The only times I prefer texting is if it's more a 'business related' thing, and I don't really want to talk, as in : I owe them money, and want to ignore them!
Texter, but it depends. I don't mind talking on the phone - I do it for a living anyways, so that doesn't bother me. Texting is usually more convenient because you can do it on your time. It's really efficient when you have multiple clients as well as you can do a massive text blast in 15 seconds instead of wasting 10 minutes calling everyone to say the same thing.
It's odd, but everyone below a certain age seems almost afraid to talk, or at least very hesitant. I've often pondered why this is so...it is as if there is somehow an increasing fear of intimacy, the direct and the physical, or so it seems, at least in theory. Or perhaps a zeal to communicate with as many people as possible, as conveniently as possible, even though not as much might be said. Curious, this preference for distance.
Texter. I hate talking not he phone, especially if I don't know them well, on account of introversion.
It depends. If I am really comfortable with that person, I love calls. I prefer talking to my best friend via calls, texting is a bit too impersonal. But for the rest of the world, texts. Especially because my accent is a bit different and because I am feel bad whenever I have to speak out loud anyway. And I am still not used to people talking in the accent around here so I feel stupid whenever I don't hear them correctly and have to ask them to repeat it every time.
Same here. I really prefer in person conversation so I can see body language. If I can't talk in person I prefer texting for most communication, with just a few exceptions.
Texter. I hate it when people call me and I'm in the middle of doing something. My friend called me one time and I was washing my face. I answered the phone and soap got into my eye! I almost hung up on her, LOL.
I still have an old flip phone which doesn't do well with texts but I prefer talking anyway. Too much gets lost in translation and people like to "fill in the gaps" as to meaning behind using a certain word or even not messaging back right away. I hear a lot of silly comments by people made about some text they received (or didn't receive). The issue could often be resolved quickly with a quick conversation.
Your entire post is accurate ... and its accuracy frustrates me. I am a good typist ... on a regular sized keyboard, that is. However, texting is work. I see people (younger ones) texting away with lightning speed. A text is good for a short message or a confirmation of an appointment ... or something like that. For matters requiring detail and explanations, I really can't understand why someone would NOT want to talk. Most plans are feature unlimited talking and texting as it is. I can understand texting while on a bus or on the subway out of respect for other passengers, but if sitting on a bench somewhere having lunch, in a park, or at a shopping mall, call someone and talk to them! Sheez.
Much prefer to call. You can often you get into a text conversation that ends up taking more time and effort than simply dialling the number and saying all that you have typed. I'm not a big texter, but I'm forced to communicate that way with some people. I'll often precede a call with a text message, just to see if it's convenient to talk.
I'm not sure what age is being specified, but I can guess that maybe I'm considered under such age? I don't know. Is 22 too old? Haha. I prefer texting and receiving texts because I can reply whenever it is convenient for me to do so. If I'm talking with someone, it's too much of a hassle to put down everything I'm doing and focus on them, unless they don't mind me multitasking, in which case I'll probably ask them to repeat themselves several times.
Texting! Well, within the country. I hate using phones for calling-my handphone especially. I can type quite quickly, so I find it easier for me. Calling is just...weird. Overseas friends, I prefer video-calling (well it's considered calling, too...) feels more intimate?
I'm a texter. Talking on the phone gives me major anxiety. I text my therapist and one doctor to make appointments.
I'm a texter and I don't really like talking on the phone all that much. Sometimes I'll call someone up though if a text conversation is waiting too long or if it's something complicated to discuss (especially at work).
