    Americans especially tend to eat a LOT of fast food, though trends show a decline in certain sectors; McDonald's sales slipped by 10% in the US over the last year. Partly, people have turned to other 'healthier' fast food options, such as Chipolte, or simply given it up, or cut back. Chipolte can still pack a TON of calories, sugar and fat, depending what you order; a Burrito w/meat and cheese, chips and guacamole, and soda is quite a caloric ordeal. Let's compare this with a splurge at McDonald's

    Chipolte 'Splurge'

    Chips and Guacamole: 800 calories, 46g fat, 7g saturated fat
    Chicken Burrito with Chicken, Rice, Black Beans, Fajita Veggies, Salsa and Cheese: 950 calories, 30g fat, 9g saturated fat
    16 Oz. Soda: 187

    Chipolte Total: 1,937 calories, 76g fat, 16g saturated fat

    McDonald's 'Splurge':

    Big Mac w/cheese:540 Calories, 28g fat, 10g saturated fat
    Large Fries: 510 Calories, 24g fat, 3.5 g saturated fat
    16 OZ Soda: 187 Calories

    McDonald's Total: 1,237 Calories, 56g fat, 13.5 g saturated fat

    With 2 big Macs, which seems extreme: 1,777 calories, 80g fat, 17g saturated fat



    Granted, you'd have a greater volume of food in the Chipolte 'splurge', but it does show that behind their clever marketing, it's not necessarily the healthy panacea one would think.

    Several months back, I decided to give up eating meat, and with this, I also found I had pretty much also given up fast food, which I never ate too much of before. The most I get now might be a bean burrito at Taco Bell on campus, mainly, because they are cheap, and I'm often broke.


    So!

    How often do you eat fast food? And how much, and where?

    The only time I eat fast food is when I'm too drunk to care about what shit I put into my body. So on average, maybe thrice a year(which would equate to like 0,05 in a week, so basically zero). Mostly when the situation occurs where I have the choice of eating fast food or not eating. I will choose to not eat, cus I hate the fast food industry. I much prefer making my own junk food.

    We don't have much in the way of fast food around here. I drink a lot of Tim Horton's but I imagine that doesn't really count. Maybe a couple times a month, I'll get a salad or sandwich from the supermarket.

    Usually once a week, sometimes we go to fancy restaurants instead. Though, I'm mostly vegetarian, but I occasionally eat chicken, just at better restaurants because poorly made food makes me sick.

    Usually my place of choice is chipotle, sometimes it's Chinese. I know a few fast-food places which make really delicious and well-Cooked food and I often love their chicken wings!

    My usual order at chipotle is 4 tacos, with black beans, lettuce, salsa, cheese, and sour cream.

    I live in a place where fast food reigns wild. I eat fast food quite a lot, but not McDonalds so much- it's more the Chinese fast food places, which is so common over here. At lunch times those stores (there's three big chains over here), are piled up full with work people on lunch break dressed in suits, and students from the area.
