Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It was so obviously meant to be seen by children, yet so deeply perverse.

I know it's not gory like some of the other things people have mentioned, but when something scars you as a kid, it will scar you forever.

LOL! You find it disturbing? Come on, I know youre better than that!

I forgot about that movie! Tho I wont add it in my top 10 most disturbing film. But still, I love the story! Hostel 3 is VERY BORING!!! I hate it! Hostel 1 and 2 is really good but 3 destroys the momentum.

I'm not one for horror or gore or any of that stuff but...

Apt Pupil and The Passion of the Christ come to mind.

Apt Pupil is about a teenaged boy that finds out there's a Nazi war criminal living in his neighbourhood. He blackmails the man, the man 'turns back into' a Nazi (reactivates the horrifyingly intense training, that is), and in the mean time loses his own mind. It's not really gore-y, but it's so intense.
(probably didn't help that I was high in the middle of an isolated woods with a bunch of people I didn't know...)

The Passion of the Christ, probably most of you have heard of. There's demon possession of small children, there's torture, there's death. (The demon possession's what got to me though.)

Saw 1 & 2. I don't remember or even know if I've seen the rest but I'll just assume they're all fucked up. I love horror movies though  x

Seriously, this is a movie that takes place in a concentration camp; the two main characters are two prisoners who are gay men. It is very disturbing; I'm glad I was an adult when I saw it or it might have scarred me for life. But I have a thick skin.

I haven't seen it yet (only a review that included very minor snippets), but Where the Dead Go to Die is really fucking weird and a drug trip from the bowels of hell.

    The Woman in Black. Woof.

Black swamp goop, major mental play and weirdness from the pits of hell galore.

    In other words, amazing.

Not really disturbing... but Lords of Salem really made me uncomfortable. I like films that are unsettling... but films that make me cringe or uncomfortable... nope.

I was about to say I Spit on Your Grave, but then my mind decided to remind that Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead is an actual movie. Bit of advice though, don't watch it if you're planning on eating fried chicken soon.

Scariest and most disturbing: Event Horizon
Um....my sister told me about Human Centipede and to see all those votes...yeah, I don't think I'm going to watch that...however....now a part of me wants to watch it. Well, if I watch it and end up profoundly disturbed by it, I'll have no one to blame but myself.

Please don't watch it. My friend made me watch it and I was physically sick. I've also mentally blocked most of it out. It ain't worth it.

Other disturbing films I've seen would have to be the Wrong Turn movies or The Hills Have Eyes.

I loved The Hills Have Eyes and the Wrong Turn movies, but refused to watch Human Centipede. Well, watched a little but found nothing redeeming about it to continue watching. Oh.......and the Hostel movies. I just find nothing appealing about it.

Hands down for me it has to be Freddy Got Fingered. Tom Green is just fucked in the head.

I've yet to see The Human Centipede, but it doesn't sound all that bad. I hear the second one is more intense, and the third one is just bad and too campy to take seriously. So if you want to see, it go for it.

Event Horizon has been on my watch list for well over a year now, and I'm thrilled for it.

I've seen a lot of freaky movies, and while Salo (which is mostly just gross) or Cannibal Holocaust have disturbing content, I at least know what I'm getting into. For instance, from the get-go, it's pretty clear what a human centipede is. But nothing disturbed me more than Blue Velvet, because it takes something so pure and perfect, then completely pulls the rug out. It totally subverts suburban life and traditional coming of age.

Eragon. The acting was so atrocious it ruined my favourite book series for me.

I didn't even like the books but I thought the movie was the equivalent of hawking a loogie onto Jesus's foot. Just an affront to all that is right in the world.

Starlight Express, by a longshot. If you haven't heard of it, it's like the same thing as Cats the musical, but with toy trains, played by actors on roller skates. I'm pretty sure the same dude directed both, even. Yikes.
