Hey everyone! My name is Lexi and I'm currently going to university in central Texas. I've recently come to realize that I'm a lesbian (well, I'm pretty sure), but I'm not out at all just yet. This is partially because I would like to have a relationship with a girl first, to confirm that I'm right, and then move on from there. Anyway, Texas isn't the best place in the world to be for me and spotting other bi/lesbian girls around campus isn't easy. I'm considering wearing a rainbow bracelet to be a bit more obvious? It's great to meet all of you!
Welcome to EC. I can only imagine what it's like being LGBT in Texas. I'm in Michigan and I'm not really looking forward to coming out. Hopefully by then I'll be out of this small town. Anyways, welcome!
Thanks everyone! @ThatBorusseenGuy - Being LGBT in my area is definitely not the worst. The big cities and border towns of Texas tend to be pretty liberal, though I'm sure it's nothing compared to Michigan! Thankfully things seem to be moving in a positive direction throughout the country!
I don't know about the rest of the state, but I think the part I live in is considered Michigan's "Bible Belt". I live in a cityvillage of 1,000, and it has to be serviced by three churches (not counting the J.Witnesses' stupid "Kingdom Hall" ten miles away). :eusa_doh: I just keep telling myself that I won't be around here forever, though. I'm going to stop myself before I start ranting. Just thought I'd reply real quick.
Hi Lexi! Yeah, Texas isn't the best, though I heard Austin is pretty accepting? Kudos to you, if you have that bold courage! I know it can be frustrating if you feel you are the only one around. Instead of limiting yourself to just the campus, have you thought about relationship sites? That would at least help you find bi/lesbian girls and connect with them, even without the rainbow bracelet (still love it though!) :icon_bigg Anyway, welcome, and it's great to meet you as well.
