I'll put it to you this way... I was able to walk into a R-rated movie, when I was around 12, because I looked at least 17/18. Nowadays, I'd say I look my age. But when folks have to guess, they go one of two ways: If they talk to me for a while, they believe I'm older. But if they look at me and guess almost immediately, they believe I'm younger. There are pros and cons to this.
I like to think so. There are times when I don't get carded, but that's generally when I'm with some older people from work. I took a flight last summer and had a seat in an exit row and the flight attendant asked if the woman sitting next to me was my mother, and then asked if I was at least 16 (I'm 28, lol). I think it probably depends on how stressed out I am on a particular day.
I've only been carded once, so I suppose I look older than I am. Or I just have good luck. (Lbh it probably has something to do with all the Oxford shirts I wear) Interestingly enough, my dad was still getting carded in his forties, and has often been mistaken for my older brother. Not sure what strange genetics are at play here, but neither my sister nor I were handed down that eternal youth trait.
In relation to my siblings people assume I am older. So I guess I look somewhat mature. Or partly because I am considerably taller than all my siblings. When people have to guess they usually put me ahead of my sisters, when in fact I am the youngest. During Medical School I was somehow older than most of my batch. But friends remarked I didn't look my age, or that I looked younger. Friends noted that a lot of guys who were older than me just seemed younger because they were smaller than me. Face wise though I looked younger.
Yes. I am 23, and most people think I'm 16/17/18. I have a few people think I'm 14/15, which is ridiculous but whatever.
I'm almost 24 and I still get regularly carded for cigarettes. I don't think I look 24, but I don't think I look 17 either. Sometimes when people ask how old I am, I tell them to guess... They normally guess 20/21. How old do you guys think I look? Just curious. (There's an album on my profile.)
I think the fact that I still occasionally get asked "So, that's two...adult...tickets?" with a bemused look in my direction from the ticket guy at the train station when travelling with my girlfriend says it all, haha. Children's tickets are for 15-year-olds and under! I get ID'd for just about anything as well, up to and including 15-rated movies on occasion. (At least I'm not getting ID'd for 12s any more, I guess!)
People usually guess that I'm a bit older than my actual age: I think it's because I'm pretty tall. When it's just my face I look my age.
It depends on how I look. One time someone thought me and my mom were a couple. Some people can get my exact age correct a few think I'm younger and most think I'm about 18.
I'm fairly thin so that probably knocks a few years off, but I've also spent a lot of time in the sun and am starting to bald. So maybe I look my age? :|
There were a lot of people I met this summer who assumed that I was a freshman, but I am actually an all-powerful senior.
I've been lucky in this department: managed to keep a youthful face, dark hair, still get ID'd at bars and when I see bands, which is always flattering! Especially being born in 1968.
I usually look my age, depending on what I wear. If I'm wearing bright colors or my hair is grown out I look 5 years younger, but really tall.
