I like cats but I LOVE dogs. For one, I'm not allergic to dogs lol. Plus dogs are really protective and good at being there for you. My experience with cats is that they hang around you on THEIR TERMS and their terms only xD

Cats! They don't require a lot of work and they're so furry, adorable, and cuddly. <3

Dogs are too needy! I like my alone time, and it's difficult to do that with a dog.

Reptiles! I have a bearded dragon and an axolotl, although axies are amphibians. And plan on getting many more animals.

Cats are wonderful animals, but you never know how they are going to ignore you next. Dogs don't do that.

Though I like both, ultimately cats. Didn't even need to think that over. I like dogs...when they aren't mine. :la:

I'm pretty neutral about both really. Four-legged furry things are four-legged furry things as far as I'm concerned.

Dogs are smelly, loud, needy, they drool, they eat shit, puke it out then eat it again, they bark at every fucking thing or even at nothing, they get themselves covered in mud, in other animals' shit, they jump on you and tear your clothes and lick you in the face, they eat anything and everything then get sick, they are subservient, slavish, mindless beasts that will do anything for their "pack leader" human owner, even if they are being abused by them, and they howl all day if the owner is not around. They have to be walked every day in the most crappy weather. Their so-called intelligence mostly comes from being able to obey commands, thus being a perfect slave. "Man's best friend" is not a friend, but a disgusting servant.

Cats are quiet, they clean themselves a lot so they don't smell, they instinctively choose the litter-box and they cover their shit, and can even be trained to use the toilet, they can be by themselves all day long without a sound, they are cheaper and easier to maintain. Cats don't jump on you like a hyperactive 4-year-old to lick your face, and don't bother your guests either. They purr. They are adorable and beautiful balls of fur with retractable claws that won't hurt anyone accidentally. They don't listen to commands, they do what they want, when they want it. They cannot be bossed around like some inferior bootlicker, because they are not willing to take abuse and place themselves under anyone's command. If you treat them right, they treat you right, just like a normal human being, or even "a friend".

That's it. Dog's are happy to be inferior. Cats are happy to be equal.

I think most people love dogs (even if it's just a subconscious thing) because being needed and being able to command another being makes them feel better about themselves. They feel like they have power.

    CAT POWER!!!

This I agree with, almost every word. However, cats can hurt you accidentally. They tend to unsheath their claws when running or jumping, and therefore can leave quite a nasty scratch if you happen to be in their way.

I am a total cat person. Had my cat for 10 years, almost 11, and he's perfect. I love how independent and intelligent cats are, yet how totally adorable and loving and willing to snuggle.

I would like dogs if I weren't scared of them. Also, if it weren't for the smell. I'm fine with the smell of sheep, horses, cows, whatever (well, not in my house, but nearby, okay). Not dogs, for some reason.

#NOTALLCATS. Mine would crap on the floor, leave dead things on the couch, cough up hairballs and roll in dirt xD [/QUOTE]

I dunno, I find a lot of people see their dogs as a friend, not something to boss around. Yeah some dogs are trained to do certain things but some are just there as a great companion

There are always exceptions in everything. Your cat might think s/he's a dog.

You missed the "...being needed..." part. Maybe some of them like to boss them around, some of them like to be needed, some of them like both.

I like both. I've never had a dog of my own so I can't really say much about dogs. My grandparents and aunt had one but that's pretty much all of the dog experience I've had.

Dogs! Though that's mostly because I don't have a choice- I'm mildly allergic to cats. If I wasn't, then I think it'd probably be closer to a tie
