Personally, if you ask me, I'm so much of a metalhead that most thrash metal can put me to sleep. I need the hard stuff, man. Stuff like Kick axe or Scorpions. Now that's real metal right there. Stuff that'll empower you and make you want to get moving! How metal would you rate yourself?
Eh... I'd say I'm somewhere in the middle. I like some soft stuff and some hard stuff, although I don't know much about the extremely hard stuff. I had a very judgy mom, so I was always careful not to listen to stuff that would embarass me terribly if she caught me. Ironically, she's also into a lot of metal, but she's extremely judgy over the stuff she doesn't like, and she normally doesn't like the very hard stuff.
I listen to the most br00tal Death Metal and frostbitten Black Metal from the darkest depths of Hell!!1! Although, seriously, I'll listen to almost any type of Metal music (my 3rd fave sub-genre is Power Metal), I just tend to prefer the more extreme stuff.
Depends on the scale? I love the Deftones, Type O Negative, Disturbed and loads of others. But I also love female vocal trance so...
I love metal~~ I was listening to hard rock before I was in kindergarten, so metal is pretty nice~ I love headbanging ^.^
↑Hahaha  I'm more into goth music (fairly soft) and Visual Kei (can be harder), and I don't listen to metal, but this is the hardest band I listen to: Madeth Gray'll https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EJjPmDS3_-0
I'm really picky with my metal. Especially with Death/Thrash. I like clean vocals, which makes some heavier groups no good. I think Death Angel is the only exception to this. I typically like things like Disturbed in terms of metal.
While I don't know metal well enough to call myself a metalhead, I do like it. I mostly just know the more famous groups like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden. But I want to learn more.
My tastes in music are all over the place. Everything from Conway Twitty, to Marilyn Manson. Don't get into the screaming vocals so much, but for favorite metal, there is nothing as good as old Metallica (pre black album)
Kick Axe gotta love the CanCon. Huuuuge Scorps fan, especially the Uli era. As for metal, I like heavy stuff but it's gotta have a singer, so I tend to gravitate toward power, prog,classic/nwobhm and thrash. With that being said several of my all-time favorite bands are all over the place stylistically: Queensryche, Skid Row, Max Webster, CCR, Theocracy, Fair Warning...
This is a pretty good middlepoint for my tastes in metal. I like things that aren't metal, too, but I'm even more specific when it comes to that.
Yay! Someone else who likes Kick Axe! "And it seems not a moment too soon." I honestly never thought I'd find someone else who still knows about them! I feel like listening to my Vices record again! :icon_bigg Yes, I did a little research (i.e., Wikipedia) and found that 2 out of their 3 styles involve metal: alternative metal and metalcore.
