I was so happy when I read the news today, I was so happy when my country allowed same sex marriage, and now I am also happily congratulating the US!

Today is the best day ever!! I just hope eventually Louisiana and Mississippi will get on board too. But my guess is that their governors will be kicked out of office if they don't follow the laws. :icon_bigg I'm proud of everyone who supports us! (&&&)

Not yet. Deeply ingrained prejudices still exist against LGB people all across the US. Not to mention there's still legal discrimination against LGB people in businesses and other things too.

It's probably not all that surprising that this thread has become the most active/responded to LGBT news story that EC has ever had. It only took about 8 hours for it to break the previous record!

Tis quite a fitting record for this news topic to hold.

I sure hope you're saying there's more gay rights to fight for, not "trans rights have to wait."

What do you mean, "why"??? From context, it's hard for me to tell if the message I'm responding to is "we have more gay rights to fight for" or if the message is "we can't fight for trans rights yet."

I would be rather hurt if the message were "we can't fight for trans rights yet." I'm asking, because I hope that's not what the person I responded to is saying.

Now for the rest of our civil rights. The fight is not over but today we can definitely celebrate!
