Hey! so, I've been meaning to get into degrassi but I don't know what season I should start from. If anybody watches it, which season would you recommend? (for the newer episodes)
Regarding degrassi tng : eight is the last season in which i was semi-consistently following the episodes. I tried to get back into in around season ten but.. eh. And now if I watched an episode, i probably wouldn't be able to name a single character I've seen the entirety of both Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High however. (these are good, but I wouldn't recommend them as starting points) Usually I detest teen dramas, so I'm not sure why degrassi is so entertaining for me Anyways my vote goes to season seven.
Wait, is that show still going on? I thought it ended around a few years ago. (Sorry for being no help but I thought the show was already dead or something, lol)
Yep. It originally got the axe after the current season (14), but Netflix saved it and it will continue as normal from what I understand. I jumped ship after S13 after one of my favorite characters got killed off and the writing got progressively worse. I still love the show, but I prefer the early seasons of TNG before the original main characters graduated.
A tv station here has currently been showing season 10 and 11, which I really loved. I found I wasn't confused with anything when I started at season 10.
Used to love it. I especially loved Riley. Once my mom changed cable companies, lost TeenNick and couldn't continue.
Duuuuuuuude, that show was my jam. xD But no, seriously. I binge watched 13 seasons of it in an entire summer/month. The first 6 seasons were really good imo, but then it kinda got a bit eh from 7 to 8, but near the end of 8 and start of 9 it was alright. But then Adam became a thing. I mean, Jordon Todosey is freaking gorgeous, and Adam was so cute/handsome... Adam was like the reason I binge watched it. When I first saw an episode with Adam years before I did the whole binge watch thing, that was like... that was when I found out about being transgender, and I really kinda identified with that show for a while. Didn't have the time to watch all of it at the time, though. I do have to say, it would have been nice to actually have an actual trans teen play Adam, but I have no qualms about Jordon's performance. :3 But season 13 was alright... but like daydreamer mentioned, a good character did die that day. :| Very stupidly, but they still died. And I can't watch season 14... it's just eh.
Used to years ago when my gf introduced me to it. Loved ittttt <3 Unrealistic as hell but I could recognize the concessions made as necessary.
It's not ending it's just gonna be shown on different channels. It's moving to Family Channel in Canada and Netflix in the US.
Oh, I did not here about that, I all I heard was it was cancelled. Yay, now I need to get Netflix back.
I jumped into the show on episode 28 of season 13 and I've gone back and watched most of the episodes all the way back from season 1 of TNG onwards. As it stands it's the only show I consistently follow as much as I'd like to see a few of the characters gone...
Ok yes I am really old to watch Degrassi but I was a fan of the original Degrassi Jr High and Degrassi High way back in the late 80's and early 90's then got into the Next Generation (what you youg'ens are calling the original) No offence when my niece started watching it. If you like to see how weird teens dressed back then and see Mr. Simpson as a gangly teenager then look them up. He was in the original back then. All the suggestions above are good though. P,S. When is Degrassi suppose to stop airing new ones on Teen Nick? Thanks
Starting July 20th they're showing a new episode every night from Monday to Friday for two weeks and then it won't air on TeenNick anymore. A new season will be on Netflix in January 2016 (and also on Family Channel if you're in Canada).
Thanks Rainbow Girl ---------- Post added 1st Jul 2015 at 04:56 AM ---------- That didn't show up sorry. Thanks Rainbow Girl.
OMG YES!!!! Start w/ Degrassi Junior High then Degrassi High, then Degrassi: The Next Generation watch them all in order. They (almost) all great the only rough season is season 8 of Degrassi: The Next Generation but when you get through that one its A LOT better
