Nope, I'm not going to apply the French flag filter to my Facebook photo. Doing so would require me to forget the racism prior to the attacks. And the unhinged, shameless racism sure to follow.

Alternately, you can just add people whose views aren't completely in lockstep with yours to your ignore list and not diss them at every opportunity.

On the other hand, there are people in my Facebook feed proclaiming how France brought this upon themselves and changing their profile pics to the Syrian flag.

    Oh people...

Oh, but that's no fun. People can't go around in life actually believing what they say and think is at all valid when it's not.

    Yeah, that's completely despicable behavior.

I just found on Twitter some completely bizarre and crazily anti-Semitic political cartoon showing that terrorists are directly controlled by the US and Israel. Unfortunately, that kind of rhetorical violence (and really it is violence, let's call it what it is, because if ISIS and terrorism generally are a Jewish conspiracy, then obviously the "remedy" is violence against the Jews) undermines the very important project of making our communities safe from terrorism while at the same time curbing racism in our own countries.

I would be cool with that and would love to debate you on these things, and I'm sure she would too, but this forum doesn't like our viewpoints; consequently, they get censored, so it's kind of wasteful to try.

It would be nice to see more tolerance here, and if people actually were more understanding to us. As it stands now, probably best to not let it get under your skin and not get any digs at people.

Again I'm wondering if I'll have friends to hang out with during Christmas when I move.

Birthdays coming up on the 6th. Might end up buying a suit for the wedding near the end of January. my brain is telling me I must lose 15 pounds and fit in a size 38 suit. So I'm probably gonna end up losing some weight and I'll see what happens.

Cardio/eating lots of chicken/various healthy things makes me happy anyway.

As much as expressing concerns with French society and social policy is perfectly legitimate, do remember that many French and foreigners with strong personal or cultural ties to France are reasonably horrified and want to show solidarity.

While I haven't done it myself, a lot of my friends have. France holds a special place in many of our hearts and most people I know have friends or relatives in Paris. The display may be tacky for someone who has no true connection with Paris, but it is such a strong message for those who do.

I'm very appreciative of your concerns, but do keep in mind that much of the support is completely heartfelt and does not ignore French social problems.

I wish I didn't have class tomorrow, it'd make today far more enjoyable. But anyways, time to make the best out of a Sunday afternoon. Going out in a bit anyhow so that might help me relax.

*goes to the store to buy a rated-M game*

    Cashier: "Can I see ID?"

Me: "Oh, sure. Am I getting alcohol with this? Haha."

Cashier: "No. This is a rated-M game. You need to be 18 years or older."

    ... I'm going to be 23.

    >_>

I feel your pain. I always look so much younger than I am. I suppose I'll reap the benefits of this later on in life  But it's not so convenient now...

Anyways. So frustrated at my phone. I swear I turned off the option to do this, but somehow my phone automatically updated this MASSIVE app using my data and now 75% of my data for the month is used up on an useless update for an app I barely ever use.
