Just to add; there's things I don't like about the Netherlands either:
    The growing racism/Islamophobia.
    The growing influence of populism.
The ignorance of the average voter*.
The lack of spine of several governments to not blindly follow US policy**.
The tendency of the last two governments to cut spending recklessly and in areas that should the last to be considered for budget cuts.

    * Last general elections, the majority of the country was against either the Liberal party or the Labour party. Neither side wanted other party to rule, which resulted in the large majority of voters, including those who would've voted on any of the other 10 parties, to vote for exactly those two parties.
Which meant that they both ended up in government together and have been royally screwing over the country since then.

** Blindly following the US into the Iraq war, despite warnings from national and international sources that there was no evidence of WMDs. Blindly buying into Joint Strike Fighter development and buying several crafts, despite there being no immediate need for those and there bein a Swedish company developping an alternative that might be just as good and possibly cheaper.
Refusing to acknowledge the existence of US nuclear weapons on Dutch soil, which has been a public secret for several decades now and thereby refusing to discuss the possibility of removing them. Eventhough the majority of the country know they exist and wants to get rid of them.

There is always something to hate in every country. It's never apparent until you live there. I personally, love living in America. It's not as blown out of proportion as everything thinks. Many people think religious issues are a huge problem here and with respect to that, they are. That said, many countries I have visited and loved, are worse with those issues.

So, I love home, but I have also traveled extensively and have a reason for it. You don't necessarily know what you lost, until you lose it.

FYI, for those who think that the USA in it's present state is worse than it was, you need to research history. The USA has more options for tolerance than ever before, it's not perfect, but it is much better than it was. It will continue, so long as people continue to try to make this world a better place and pursue topics like education and other progressive venues to replace archaic traditions.

With the growing trends in communication, it may seem the opposite, but really it is not.

I hate most aspects of America's government, and a relatively sizable minority of people living in it.

But I don't "hate America." That feels like far too broad a brushstroke.

It really doesn't matter what state you live in here in the States, as what I want to escape exists in all 50 states: religious oppression of non-believers, homophobia, and gun violence.

As for the LGBT issue, the #1 country that LGBT people from all over the world are immigrating to is New Zealand, and Australia is a close second. In fact, before DOMA was struck down, there were more binational same-sex couples in the US that were leaving because of anti-gay immigration laws.

Why is Canada the default country for Americans to want to move too. This country is a god damn icicle.

Actually, twice the amount of people move from here to Canada than Mexico. And way more Canadians move here than Americans move there

Because it's much easier to get in than the EU.

Also I actually love cold weather - but yeah wouldn't apply to most people.

I hate that word with a passion. Probably because I don't understand it's utility. Young whippersnappers!

All countries have there problems but there's advantages as well. I don't have to worry about getting killed or losin my job because of who I am.

I hate all governments, but particularly ours because it obviously affects me the most living here.

    I like the country.

It's some of the people that I don't particularly enjoy.

I have gone back and forth on love and hate for America. I too have thought about moving to Canada, but thinking about it, Canada probably has issues too. I think it is just the way mass society is. They like to put everything into boxes and categories that they can easily understand. A lot people don't know that life just doesn't work that way. Life is messy, lovely, and unexpected.

You can be patriotic towards your country without having to love its government or think it is perfect. Just be grateful you're not in Saudi Arabia or Syria getting blown to pieces.

I've never been, so I can't say. I've heard so many bad things about the place, though, it's kind of put me off ever visiting.
