You are intend of making me cry it seems as the following songs all make me cry.

Imagine a little boy whose tremble whenever his father mentioned. Pray everyday when his arrive hours get closer that he isn't angry so that his brother, mother or himself doesn't pay the price. For me this is why this song is so on spot... memories of a child whose filled with Father fear instead of love.

Then one day, that monster of your life shows probably greatest act of kindness for a "different" boy like you. He accepts you without blinking an eye and only word his worries for you. Unfortunately with a simple twist of fate, life takes him away from you before you can learn to love, understand your father.

Then in years to come you saw even death itself can't stop a father from loving, protecting his son. That boy now looks up the night sky for guidance, a clue from a man he desperately wants to know, learn to love.

Another song from someone most important in my life, my mother. Song words my feelings so nicely, my story with mom. From being rivals to best friends. I know I am very lucky I have the coolest mom. I wonder sometimes how many mothers watch comic book movies/animated movies or lgbt movies with their son... even without knowing openly they are gay. Comment and joke about the games they play... watch them while playing. Sometimes it feels like we are both little kids, doing stuff while afraid of getting caught by some non-existant parent figure.

Okay enough tears. People will think I am weirder then usual while weeping like this in the office.

My favorite song ever is Scum by Santa Hates You. Not only is it hardcore electro, but is also like a battle cry against bigots:

"armies of mindless bigots/are marching on our souls
trying to crush our rights/as they cry out the name of god

"they're licking their egos/like a dog licks his balls
acting like worms/but at least a worm crawls!

is it attention that they crave?/they're just digging their own grave
we're gonna take no prisoners/now it's our turn to misbehave

racists, sexists, homophobes/and all you other a**holes
around the globe/we're here to let you know

that your time is gone!/f*** you! you f***ing scum!
we're gonna take no prisoners/your time is gone!

they high-five Jesus/and then give head to the devil
they take hypocrisy/to a whole new level

is it attention that they crave?/they're just digging their own grave
we're gonna take no prisoners/now it's our turn to misbehave

shutting them down/will be a pleasure
'cause drastic times/call for drastic measures

racists, sexists, homophobes/and all you other a**holes
around the globe/we're here to let you know

that your time is gone!/f*** you! you f***ing scum!
we're gonna take no prisoners/your time is gone!"

Things like that really give me hope for the future. When my depression overwhelms me, I just listen to this and I have energy again. (Some.)

----Genesis ~the phoenix syndrome~ by Season Of Ghosts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCp76Fc-wFU

A mix of techno and metal with beautiful singing by Sophia Aslanidou. The chorus speaks to me in a way that says no matter how many times I fall, I can rise like a phoenix and be better than before.

----Make It Stop (September's Children) - Rise Against
Do I really need o post up the reason? This is a song that was featured in the It Gets Better Project. The song speaks for itself.

----You Raise Me Up (Romeo X Juliet Version)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcE0nAzKjD4
A Christian song. But this song drives me tears for some reason.

Yes - Fragile, whole cassette, had that playing on a loop, when I had my first sexual encounter with a girl, my high school sweetheart (who used me the next day to drive her from her dominating Italian parents to her future fiances house.) Talk about a heartbreak.

Now, there's a long list of songs that have helped me discover who I am, and how precious life is.

I'm at work screwing around right now, I'll have to make a list later.

Instead of songs that make me cry, I'm just going to go with all songs that make me feel powerful emotions, or songs that I just GET.

MOST of these are Disturbed, because I love his voice and the meaning behind the lyrics. He's just powerful.

Disturbed - Innocence:

"Who is innocent?
No one is innocent?
Who is innocent?
Who is innocent?
No one is innocent?
Who is innocent?
Who is innocent?
Is it relevant in the world today?
I shake my head in disbelief
The killer walks again
Freed by evil men
And their dark charade
This can’t be happening
A mother’s selfish pride
Her child's homicide
Can she be to blame?
The suited vulture’s circling
A father’s cruelty
A murdered family
Is the world insane?
Their defenders ready to
Embrace their lies
With their devious smiles

Your corruption is like a cancer growing inside
You owe the world an apology
You’ve been taught all your life
That truth is easy to hide
You'll face your judgment another day
And suffer eternally

Who is innocent?
No one is innocent
Who is innocent?
Presumed innocent
Justice fails again
In the masquerade
A battered woman trembling
Her lover drunk again
When will the torture end
In her web of shame?
Is death the only way?
A child victimized
The crime politicized
For the counselor's gain
The rabid media congregates
His tortured memories
A pervert's fantasies
Is the world insane?
The parasitic devastation seen
On your TV screen

Your corruption is like a cancer growing inside
You owe the world an apology
You’ve been taught all your life
That truth is easy to hide
You'll face your judgment another day
And suffer eternally

False defender, burn forever
False defender, burn forever
Cold and spineless, have you no soul?
Wicked-minded, out of control
And guided by their hunger
They will find new ways to betray us

Your corruption is like a cancer growing inside
You owe the world an apology
You’ve been taught all your life
That truth is easy to hide
You'll face your judgment another day
And suffer eternally

Who is innocent?
Is it relevant in the world today?
I shake my head in disbelief
Presumed innocent
Justice fails again
In the masquerade
Has the whole world become insane?"

This song is basically a middle finger to the media and their tendency to blame the victims.

Disturbed - Land of Confusion:

"I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
They're burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Oh, superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago
When the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright all through the night
In the wake of this madness, as I held you tight
So long ago

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know we'll never keep

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Now, this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to"

I love how this song is just a call to action to make the world a better place. We need more bands like Disturbed.

Disturbed - Liberate:

"Bold motherfucker don't you limit your mind

Liberate your mind
You motherfucker, you're so narrow-minded
So narrow-minded
So liberate your mind
Now motherfucker, will you liberate your mind
Liberate your mind
You motherfucker, you're so narrow-minded
So narrow-minded
So liberate your mind
Now motherfucker, will you liberate your mind
This time

Bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Can't you see that the message
Have fallen behind
All the hate in your heart
Will be leaving you blind
So bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Now bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Can't you see that the message
Have fallen behind
All the hate in your heart
Will be leaving you blind
So bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
This time

Waiting, for your modern messiah
To take away all the hatred
That darkens the light in your eye
Still awaiting, I

Liberate your mind
You motherfucker, you're so narrow-minded
So narrow-minded
So liberate your mind
Now motherfucker, will you liberate your mind
Liberate your mind
You motherfucker, you're so narrow-minded
So narrow-minded
So liberate your mind
Now motherfucker, will you liberate your mind
This time

Bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Can't you see that the message
Have fallen behind
All the hate in your heart
Will be leaving you blind
So bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Now bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
Can't you see that the message
Have fallen behind
All the hate in your heart
Will be leaving you blind
So bold motherfucker
Don't you limit your mind
This time

Waiting, for your modern messiah
To take away all the hatred
That darkens the light in your eye
Still awaiting, I

"Out of Zion shall come forth a law
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem
Nation shall not raise sword against nation
And they shall not learn war anymore
For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken"

Waiting, for your modern messiah
To take away all the hatred
That darkens the light in your eye
How long will we be
Waiting, for your modern messiah
To take away all the hatred
That darkens the light in your eye
Still awaiting, I

Still awaiting, I"

Clearly anti-holy wars. Clearly one of my favorites.

Disturbed - Conflict

"You are, enemy
You are my hated enemy
I am enemy
Number one rated enemy
I'm a labelled enemy
I am your mortal enemy
My actions enemy
Make me your bitter enemy

All the world around enemy
They're tearing up the ground enemy
They're drawn in by the sound
Enemy, enemy I must eliminate my Enemy

Your people, enemy
My people's hated enemy
What are you, enemy
Though a created enemy
Terminate the, enemy
Eradicate the hated enemy
I am an enemy
My very greatest enemy

You try to tell me that you love life
Then find another way to kill life

Wanting, love life
Needing, kill life
Wanting, love life
Needing, kill life
Enemy"

He's basically stating that he is his own greatest enemy, which is something I can very much identify with, as my own social ineptitude makes me feel like I can't DO life.

Moving on to other artists, but I'll probably remember more Disturbed later... Because I freaking LOVE him.

Essentially ALL of Rage Against The Machine really speaks to me, but these songs are my favorites.

RATM - Born As Ghosts.

"The hills find peace
Locked armed guard posts
Safe from the screams
Of the children born as ghosts
Gates guns and alarms
Shape the calm of the dawn
Peering down into the basin
Where death lives on
When young run foaming at the mouth with hate
When burning batons beat the freezing who shake
Under the toxic sunsets they dine and toast
Of walls deny the terror faced
By the children born as ghosts

Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
We're the children born as ghosts

born as ghosts

One book and forty ghosts stuffed in a room
The school as a tomb
Where home is a wasteland
Taste the razor wire
And thought is locked in the womb
The tales that tear at the myth of the dream
Myth of the dream
Myth of the dream
A suffering that shocks the lives off the screen
Myth of the dream
Myth of the dream

Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
We are the children born as ghosts

Born as ghosts
Born as ghosts

Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
A warning, you sufferers, begin to speak our word
Born as ghosts
We're the children born as ghosts

Born as ghosts
Born as ghosts"

RATM - Bullet In The Head

"This time the bullet cold rocked ya
A yellow ribbon instead of a swastika
Nothin' proper about ya propaganda
Fools follow rules when the set commands ya
Said it was blue
When ya blood was read
That's how ya got a bullet blasted through ya head

Blasted through ya head
Blasted through ya head

I give a shout out to the living dead
Who stood and watched as the feds cold centralized
So serene on the screen
You were mesmerised
Cellular phones soundin' a death tone
Corporations cold
Turn ya to stone before ya realise
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz
And mutha fuckas lost their minds

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high
Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high

Run it!

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high
Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high

Checka, checka, check it out
They load the clip in omnicolour
Said they pack the 9, they fire it at prime time
Sleeping gas, every home was like Alcatraz
And mutha fuckas lost their minds

No escape from the mass mind rape
Play it again jack and then rewind the tape
And then play it again and again and again
Until ya mind is locked in
Believin' all the lies that they're tellin' ya
Buyin' all the products that they're sellin' ya
They say jump and ya say how high
Ya brain-dead
Ya gotta fuckin' bullet in ya head

Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high
Just victims of the in-house drive-by
They say jump, you say how high

Uggh! Yeah! Yea!

Ya standin' in line
Believin' the lies
Ya bowin' down to the flag
Ya gotta bullet in ya head

Ya standin' in line
Believin' the lies
Ya bowin' down to the flag
Ya gotta bullet in ya head

A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
A bullet in ya head!
Ya gotta bullet in ya fuckin' head!

Yeah!

Yeah!"

As you can probably tell, this is against the very idea of herding people like sheep, and allowing yourself to be herded.

These are just some of my favorites. I can't list them all, because I'd be here for hours. As you can probably tell, I'm against oppression.

It's basically about coming out.

Katy Perry: Unconditionally
Pretty self explanatory. I'm going to love who I'm gonna love, no matter his faults.

Naughty Boy: La La La
I sometimes imagine what my parents will say when I come out. If they're spittin' venom, I'm gonna cover my ears and say "La La La"

Changes - Chris Lake (Dirty SOuth Remix)
I was going through a pretty shit time and starting the difficult bit of coming to terms with myself and accepting things - I didn't totally come out of the closet but I did allow myself to do some things I would never have dared do in the past and the lyrics in this resonated on a massive scale

The Eels - Fresh Feeling

Came out of my first serious relationship and discovered this song which again just resonated at the time and help me get over things in short order.

I played that song 24/7 when I was being bullied at school, It wasn't a happy song, but it made me feel better. A sort of "you're not the only one" and a "don't give up" sort of thing. Especially that chorus. I loved that chorus!

A lot of memories with this song.

HIM - Join Me
Oh my teenage angst song, so much has happened but this song has stayed as my favourite for more than 10 years.
