I got the date for my first appointment at the GIC! It's 2 weeks on Tuesday, which is really fast and definitely faster than I thought it would be  I'm just so happy I'm one step further now

I'm officially employed and on payroll! And I don't feel TOO scared about being out as trans there, because I know a transgirl who works there, although I'm not entirely sure if she's out at work? But it's through my school, so any discrimination has legal consequences B)

My best friend said something the other day that made so intensely happy. I was explaining to him the concept of binding because he thought binders were bras, so I was explaining to him their purpose and things like that. After about maybe 20 or so minutes of talking about binders  he says

"Don't worry, Cade, we'll get you one... I hope it's not uncomfortable, me saying "we", I want to help you, but if you'd rather me just say "You" then that's okay too"

I thought it was the sweetest thing ever, his willingness to help me. It felt like a victory, that I have so much of his support and acceptance so I thought I'd post it here.

Went to the men's restroom. It was gross, but it was the mens and nobody noticed. *insert evil laugh here*

And then on the flipside, I keep getting funny looks at women's restrooms. So I guess this means I look pretty masculine.

Painted my nails today. Unfortunately I also discovered that I suck at it.

Some guy just called me looking for someone (another wrong number case, seriously who had this number before me) and gendered me right when he apologized.

Considering some stuff that happened here a few years ago, I wouldn't be surprised. XD

I was at a Rick Astley concert, and he(Rick) asked me - when we was getting his autograph - 'What's your name, boy?'

...and then my dad ruined the beautiful moment by saying 'My daugthers name is...'

I didn't even try to present as male (Formal volunteer work so they had my given name and sex and whatnot, so I didn't bother) and I got so many "He" and "His" and I even got a "Young man". I was so happy, most of them "corrected" themselves after a double take and realizing I was physically a girl, but holy crap did it ever make my night!

So it turns out that painting my nails had a much larger effect than I anticipated. My hands look so feminine now and since I spend so much time looking at my hands just going about my every day life, it makes me feel a lot better.

I was a bit worried about what my dad would say though. Even if he said he supported me, I had my doubts once I started expressing. My parents came home today and I initially hid my nails from him but I realized I'd be unable to at dinner. When he noticed my nails he chuckled and I prepared for a snide comment but he just said "Was it hard painting your nails?" I said it had been and he said "I can see that"--probably referring to how uneven and shitty I did it--and said it would have been fun to see me struggle with it. That was it. I was super surprised.

My victory was at graduation I felt good in my own skin and I didn't get called a girl. I also got a lot of complements by close friends say how gender neutral I looked. I was happy

I am going to hold my own lecture about transsexualism, health, well-being, body acceptance and sex at the local pride festival! I completed my transition (as far as I want to go at least) a few years ago and have finally started to self-realize and enjoying my life as a post-op transman! Sharing my experiences to inspire others is one way to do it so I'm very happy about this chance!
