Last month I made some progress:

-- Cut my hair. Not as short as I wanted but much shorter than it was.

-- Came out to an acquaintance of mine who identifies as genderqueer. She told me she had already guessed / wasn't surprised given how I interact with others. I took that as a compliment.

Thanks. It went really well. I usually have a hard time putting my thoughts and feelings into words out loud, but I did well today. Probably because all the words have been playing through my head for weeks.

The day started out rough. It's Trans Day of Visibility, and I wish I could be out at work, but there's no way it would be safe (in terms of keeping my job at least). So I was feeling bad. And then the guy in the next cube started ranting loudly about political stuff, in a clearly LGBT-unfriendly way. BUT …

I decided to choose today to come out to the one coworker who I was sure would be accepting. And she was! Then I talked about having done that with my Facebook 'allies' list, and I got flooded with messages of love and encouragement.

So it has ended up being a very nice day!

    (happy trans day of visibility!)

Today has been a really nice day, and I think it's such a good reminder to remember all of those who can't be here with us today, and just a time to celebrate our siblings, and support each other!

After this week, I will have just enough money to buy a binder! This weekend I'm going to a friend's house and he is helping me buy it (my parents would be so confused/freaked out...).
I'm SO excited to finally get a binder!

I really want this for myself, and I'll be broke after I buy it, but I plan on saving up enough money and then donating to different trans people's surgery funds/charities/etc!

Oh, also on tumblr I posted some pics of me and I got, like 160 notes, and I feel really good, but I want to do more than just post and reblog selfies.

I told someone that I might be transgender for the first time (even if it was just my psychiatrist). I knew it would be difficult, but damn...

I feel a little lighter now, though. So I guess that's a plus.

So I had a meeting with the student support worker / coordinator person and I'm going to return to school as male after the holidays! I'm absolutely terrified, but in a good way.

    Looking good, young man.
I hope to have a good reaction when I come out. My cousin knows, and she has no problem with it. I absolutely hated my grandma's comment after the last time I broke down from my parents constant nagging and got my hair cut - "I'm glad you cut your hair. You look more like a boy." GYAAAAA!!!

First ID pic that doesn't disgust or embarrass me when I look at it.
I know what others would say, but I actually don't give a damn : I like it 'cause it shows the real me, not a complete stranger.

Congrats, Michael! That's awesome! It doesn't matter what I do or who takes the picture, my ID pictures always end up looking like mugshots.

Over heard a little girl talking to her mom about how she really liked my hair and ponytail. How it was "so pretty".

The other day I was with my family at an event for my little brother, my mom had been talking to one of the other moms, and the lady said "so, is this your other son?"

I'm not out to my parents yet, so maybe it was good that my mom said no before I said yes. But I still had to walk away and silently scream "yes!".

I have never passed before because I have not cut my hair yet, and I have not gotten a binder yet either. Very exciting.
