I updated my profile so instead of my gender saying "externally female" I'm "internally male." Not a big change but 1.) It makes me smile and 2.) IMO it's much more accurate.

Thanks, Michael. I'm very happy to read your friend is supportive --- how awesome! And signing your name is a hu-u-u-uge step, man! Freaking awesome!

i told my teen son on the 5th that i wasn't completely cis and that im trying to figure out where i am on the gender spectrum. he didn't freak out..... he was in a fair bit of shock but said he accepts me, i don't think he completely understands either, i'm letting it sink in a bit and then i will approach him with it again to see if he has any questions or concerns. i didn't lay everything out on the table, he doesn't need to know everything.

so that's my small (hugh) victory.

Kasey, That is great and I know what you mean it does feel wonderful.

Sometimes when I get a ma'am i wonder if the person is being polite or if i passed.

    Congrats! (*hug*)

I'm about to tell a teenager too (my sister)... Maybe tomorrow.

No, I don't think the young ones freak out nowadays, but to understand it takes time.

Changing my email adress. Can't stand to use the old one (with birthname) anymore. Feels like it belongs to someone else.

One of female friends in my study abroad group called me bro today and I made me so freaking happy.

Thanks, Felix! :icon_bigg And no, thats a huge step! Internally accepting the man you are, instead of focusing on something that is negative to you is a great victory. Its often the smallest change in perspective that has the greatest impact on our happiness.

I was eating at the restaurant with my father today for lunch and the waiter called me "young man" two or three times. I'm not sure my father heard it, but if he did, he didn't say anything. So i guess it was cool.
Also, i bought my first underwear two days ago. It was a bit weird, but i tried it on and i was like "i like it". I'll try to wear it sometimes, but i have to way, my mom doesn't know and she'll just freak out, i think, if she finds out..

I kind of figured he'd be ok, bit of a shock though. I've been educating him on LGBT issues since i came out to myself last april. planting seeds so to speak. Best of luck with your little sister, but if she's anything like my son, she'll be chill with it, she just may need a little time to process it.

Got my bangs trimmed, and now any way I wear my hair, I look pretty androgynous!

My sister even likened me to Armin Arlert from Attack on Titan, which is really promising

I identified as transgendered today on an anonymous quiz.

    It was... long overdue.

Congrats, looking for me! That's fantastic. I came out to my son last year but given he's only two that's not exactly much of an accomplishment.

You're so wise. Thanks, Michael. (*hug*)

I finally changed my name and pronouns on facebook. I wrote my preffered name with japanese characters, so nobody can understand what it is, unless they ask and I changed my pronouns to "they", so it would be harder for people to notice the change. This way I don't have to see "female" everytime I go on facebook, but still don't need to come out to people I don't want to.

I don't know if you can call it ''small'', perhaps, but I got my surgery date! I'll be having top surgery! No more binder, no more changing room scare, no more passing on swimming!

Thanks :icon_bigg It's my first surgery (not including wisdom teeth), so I'm a bit nervous, but they said I'd be asleep, so it should go well.

    That's major, congratulations
Got an androgynous haircut and feel really great about it. As I was sitting in the waiting area I noticed I was totally sitting like a dude  Also picked a gender neutral nickname that I can use when I feel like it. Baby steps.

Somebody unexpectedly called me by my new name today and unlike the time I first got someone to use it on me, this time it felt like they were actually talking to me:eusa_danc I guess it's grown on me now:icon_bigg

People are calling me by my preferred name which is nice (though a few are still calling me by my birth name but that's alright).
I feel like I am much more understanding of my situation now and what I need to do.

I'm at a fundraising dinner for our local LGBTIQ youth support group. The teens are doing a talent show, emceed by members of our local chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. And I've been able to introduce myself as "[kid's name]'s trans parent." Too fun!
