Anytime anyone describes my looks, they call me cute. They call me adorable. They call me handsome. But I never get called hot, I never get called sexy. I'm tired of being looked at as "cute" and "adorable", I want to have sex appeal. I want to feel sexy. I see people calling other guys hot, why are they any better than me? I'm annoyed.
well. I get called cute a lot, so its kinda become part of my persona, but there are times where you wanna be recognized for other things... I totally understand. I'm sure youre gorgeous. don't let peoples comments (or lack thereof) get to you!
In my mind cute and sexy are not mutually exclusive. I understand that there's a context in which cute seems like a lesser complement, but I really don't see it that way. For a couple of the crushes I've had the first word that comes to mind is cute and I think that's a very positive thing. That doesn't prevent them from also being hot and sexy.
When you say people, do you actually mean possible boyfriends or people in general? The words people use to express affection for one another depend greatly on the relationship they wish to have with said person. For me personally, calling someone "sexy" without getting to know them first on a personal level, is quite degrading. Therefore the term "cute" is in order.
honestly, now that I think of it, I rarely call anyone hot or sexy. I always use "cute" even if they're hot. guess I'm a hypocrite lol!
I always get called cute >.>;; It bugs me mostly cause dysphoria... Why can't someone call me handsome?
I'm sure you're an unbelievably handsome, dapper man. I rarely hear anyone use the word handsome anymore honestly, I get called handsome on rare occasions. Chin up buttercup
Well, you get to be cute due to an incident of genetics, just as that hot person over there. I find my boyfriend cute most of the time, because if I am feeling something that not hard-core lust, it's hard to think of people as hot. Also, you never go up to the person and tell them they're hot, you say it to your friends all hush-hush.
I think you look great! Also I equate cuteness to hot, so I guess some people are just being "polite liars"
Exactly. Calling someone cute is about the best one can do to their face until well into a relationship...
Being that I am neither "cute" or "hot," I would settle for "cute." Also, when I say someone is "cute," I often find them "hot" too.
I'm often called 'handsome' or 'cute' but just don't fall into the 'hot' category. I think a lot of it is because of appearance e.g. I have a baby face so I'm 'cute' however, I also have a strong jawline and pronounced brow line for a woman so I'm 'handsome'. For some people, their personality also makes them 'cute'. I think it's largely meant to be a compliment though. Also, like others have said, being 'cute' doesn't necessarily mean you aren't 'hot'
