I predict that one day, homophobia will die out, it will become virtually extinct; and that it will seem just as 'normal' to be gay, as it is to be straight. Gays and lesbians will be able to kiss their partners in public, walk down the street hand in hand, etc, and no-one will even bat an eyelid.

Yea that whole millions of people dying by Christmas screams good Christian values... Forget the fact there are at least as much heterosexual people with aids as there are homosexual people with aids... Or those with bad blood transfusions.
Since I proudly wear my mental illness badge, I'll just put it out there that in a weird way, I think we need the occasional reminder that some people hate us this much. I feel like there's complacency these days. We talk a lot about how terrible and sad it is that people are so "ignorant." As if they "just knew the truth"--that us fags and dykes are "people too"--they would see the light of reason, even if reason cannot soften their dark hearts. My thoughts exactly. I love how pastors, well nutcases such as these, like to cherry pick stuff from the Bible just to suit themselves. It sickens me :tantrum: How about we just fire him or send him to a remote island off the coast of Siberia for Christmas, then we'd have a nutcase pastor from Tempe, Arizona free world! Seriously, it's people like him that give Christians (the good ones) a bad rep. Totally unfair.

Seriously though, people like these who are intent on genocide are never good news. Take the Nazi party *sirens*'sensetive issue'*ring though a megaphone*, they took an emblem (the buddist (I think) symbol for good luck) and villainised it by associating it with them and the deeds they have done. Now compare this to these kinds of people. They have taken something generally good (the bible and christianity) and have associated it with hate on LGBT's.

Re: Scary christian man supports genocide.. of us? I certainly don't mean to diminish the chillingness of the evil and hatred he's directed at us. But it's not genocide. Genocide refers to actions taken to assimilate, displace or exterminate an identifiable ethnic group or people who are identifiable as a people by religion, geographic location, or phenotype. What he is discussing though, is a kind of demicide, which is a more generalized term, and it's helpful to talk about stuff like this, where the violence is extreme and classification based, but not necessarily racialized. While he doesn't have a lot of power, I feel like it's worth thinking about the fact that if somebody says this in, say, Sudan, Russia, or Greece, it carries a lot more weight, with the background violence. In the United States and Western Europe, especially not having grown up in the 1950s and 1960s, we're blissfully unaware of the extreme violence we suffered. And while I certainly don't mean to minimize or erase the fact that trans women of color are the most murdered group in the United States right now, or that LGBT youth still get abandoned by their parents (which is amazing violence in itself), it's still the case that as a whole, things are better than they were. Perversely, I'm happy sometimes that we get these reminders of the need to fight for our brothers and sisters. I know some of us don't want to fight; we just want to live. But I embrace being protective of my family, and that includes all of you. I only hope that chilling stories like this will make you think the same about your LGBT neighbors. Right there. Right in your home town. Right in your neighborhood.

It's so much fun getting just the tiniest bit inside these people's heads...of course, you can't get too far in...'cause there's not enough room.
