Dear members, We have received a research request from a Research Associate at King's College London, who is currently completing this research as part of a PhD award. A description of this research can be found here: The member in question is named ihateirony, who is aware of this thread and will monitor it to address any questions that may be posted. Thank you, From EC Staff.
Well I've already taken it (maybe it'll clarify for others), but on the "how much do you agree with part" with the "gender identity questions - by "gender identity" do you mean sex assigned at birth? Because I would jump at the chance to change my sex assigned at birth - my gender, however, I don't really care about.
Just took it. Yikes, that was a long quiz. I wouldn't be surprised if you got confused about my gender submissions. My logical side was like "How does this work out? Spock would not be pleased"
I took a survey similar to this...it was shorter but it was specifically for my home state, trying to get health insurers to understand that lgbt+ really need proper health insurance and medical attention. Also for insurances to pay for transitions and guidance counseling.
ihateirony, your awesome for doing something like this!!! i took the survey and i hope by the end that you have more data than you can handle! lol
Thank you for researching this topic, it affects a lot of people. Gender and sexuality are complex and widely misunderstood. Also, my best friend is doing Medicine at KCL
I took it but there are questions I'm a bit confused about. Eg. "Compared to other children of the same sex, my activity level was": what activity? The amount of time when played with "girly/boyish" toys?
Thanks again to those who took part and for your feedback! Hel, the questions are open to your own interpretation, so don't worry too much, but if you want to know by activity level it meant how physically active you were, for example climbing tress and playing sports would be considered signs of a higher activity level.
Okay. Thanks for the clarification. Oh, and by the way, it's a good survey overall, very complete. And thank you for doing that. It will be helpful for the community.
Great survey, I hope it helps King's College. It is nice to know that people are trying to get a better understanding of "us". Though it is the second survey I have done for them recently. : P
Thanks and no problem! Also, if anyone knows any bisexual men or trasngender people who they think would like to participate, the please send them the link. Those groups are a little under represented so far. And straight men. I need a lot of straight men to fill it out still!
