Lady Gaga and Ellen Degeneres. Lady Gaga because I admire her art, music and style, and I love what she stands for -- individuality and expressing yourself through art. I admire Ellen DeGeneres because I think it took a lot of guts doing what she did, coming out on TV in 1998, and I think she helped pave the way for the more widespread acceptance of homosexuality seen today.
Its Ellen Degeneris simply because shes out and proud also she has a very good sense of humor and she's kind.
I think my main role model would be Kyell Gold. He's a great writer as well as being gay, and I really look up to him. I even got a chance to interview him for a newspaper project. Other than that, I would have to say A. T. Adams, who is also a fantastic writer and artist as well as bisexual. And then Katie Hofgard, who is straight but is still a big supporter and a very nice woman, as well as an artist. I've had the chance to talk to her several times in streams and she's awesome. They're all furries, which I think says something about that community as well.
A person I know in my own day-to-day life. Love that she had the courage to be true to herself and know what makes her happy.
Demi Lovato is actually LGBT. She came out on Glee last season. As for my role models on LGBT it would definitely be Matt Bomer and Eli Lieb
Have we seriously made it onto page two without anyone saying Stephen Fry? For shame. Seriously though, Stephen Fry is my role model not because of the fact that he is gay but because he is an amazing person.
I saw this thread and I was going to put troye and tyler down!! I'm so excited about trxye but I wish I could have got a signed copy
Maybe Miles Jai or Hart? I don't really know. I wish I could say myself but I'm as shitty a role model as the come.
Carmen Carerra. She doesn't take crap from anyone and will say what's on her mind. I know many people who've complained about how she's treated Ru but that's exactly my point. Ru offended her and she didn't shy away and keep quiet. My point is, that if your friend said something homophobic or transphobic, would you just look the other way? I know I wouldn't. Regardless if they're my friends or not, I would tell them why and ask them to stop. Fans call her ungreaful, I call her brave. It takes guts to stand up to someone who makes such comments.. it takes even more to stand up to your friends when they make such comments. And therefore, that is why she's my roll model.
I really like the spirit of Edith Windsor and the important work she has done. There is a really interesting movie about her and her wife and their long relationship in a time when people weren't out like today. Neil Patrick Harris is a good one in that I watched Doogie Howser MD every week and would tape it if I couldn't watch it live. I thought he was so cute but didn't know what that meant at the time. When he came out it was like ok, so he and I were both gay all along and I still find him very attractive. The fact that he's out, married and has kids is something I should aspire to.
Don't really have a role model; never had one; that was part of the problem; no role models way back when. Tiny Tim, Liberace, or Truman Capote couldn't do it for me; sorry. The ones who might have were locked in the closet.
