Earlier today, a judge struck down the ban on gay marriage in Wisconsin. So, it is now the 20th state that allows gay marriage while 7 other states' appeals are pending. :eusa_clap Link to an article: Judge strikes down Wisconsin same-sex marriage ban I heard this earlier today on the radio in the car. On the outside, I was calm. On the inside, I felt so happy. It's not my state, but it's one step closer to gay marriage being legal in all 50 states.
To be honest I am so happy for this. Can't wait to see all of the Cheesehead couples getting married .
This is good news, but headed for another appeal: "Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen says he will seek an emergency federal court order to stop the marriages in light of clerks going ahead with marriages." So onto the circuit court level.
I wonder what the total number of states with pending appeals is...I've lost count! At least, so far, all the judges have been ruling in our favor. If this was baseball, we'd be on a very long winning streak.
OH MY GOODNESS YAY I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!! Congrats for Wisconsin for being another state to walk on the right path to equality!!
When I first saw this, I thought to myself, "I hope Tammy Baldwin and her wife are in Wisconsin to get married before they stay the ruling." But then a quick Google search shows that the first openly gay Senator and her partner split up. But congratulations to Wisconsin!
(!)(!) come on now for the whole 50 states come on all 50 states for the win we're so close so close .
Now I'm going to have to find another reason to explain to my nana why my partner and I aren't getting hitched right away...
This is great news! I'd been waiting for another victory, it's just so much fun each time one of these is announced ride::newcolor::icon_lol: In the following article, the dumdum continues to promote lies to fuel our opposition. She knows the judicial branch's role in our governmental system yet lies to rile up support for her failing group. She goes onto lie that marriage between a man and a woman became unconstitutional. What an asshat liar!! "Julaine Appling, president of Wisconsin Family Action, which filed a brief in support of the state’s position, was furious with Friday’s ruling. “I think it’s extremely disappointing,” Appling said, saying same-sex marriage supporters had taken the “chicken” way out by “running to the courts” rather than going to a vote by Wisconsinites. “When did ‘we the people’ become ‘I the judge?’” Appling said. “When did marriage between a man and a woman become unconstitutional?”" Gay couples line up to marry after ruling striking down ban : Wsj
