@for My point was that queer men have that much more to lose in the first place, or at least the perception that they're losing more. It takes a lot more getting used to for someone who benefits from both male and heterosexual privilege to suddenly have that gone.
Are you saying lesbians benefit from both male and heterosexual privilege ? Another thing to the op Porn doesn't reflex or show what a person's sexual orientation is a straight man can watch porn and still be straight and not in denial , I personally think your going to far saying he's in denial . It's the same thing if a straight woman watches lesbian porn and still can be considered straight . The only time I would say if he were in denial is if he was going out sleeping with men either when he was with you or not with you when he's single . Another thing it's ok for a straight man to be curious just like a straight woman could be and still considered straight yet a straight doesn't need to sleep with a man or do anything with a man and still be considered in denial or gay in this day and age while a straight woman like similar to you can be sexually attracted to women and sometimes even sleep with them and still be called straight even if she slept with 1000 women . What a double standard world we live in and a man could be sleep with one man and be called gay his whole life even if he sleeps with a 1000 women afterwards .
Haha, nope, only that they don't have male privilege to begin with. They don't "lose" their womanhood, or have to worry about being called men (unless they're extreme butch to begin with, or something). And I don't think it's necessary for someone to have gay sex to know they're gay - plenty of members here have admitted to knowing before even having a sexual experience or relationship. Chip told me to watch less porn and focus on my fantasies to see where I fell on the spectrum, and a lot of those fantasies involved men, or at least masculine partners. I watch and get off to all types of porn.
That's true with the butch lesbian indeed and how some people say you wanna dress and act like a man you should be treated like one . Chip is right to tell you to lay off the porn , he gives great advice
yes a straight man can enjoy gay porn. i prefer gay porn featuring girl on girl action. does it make me gay? no. porn is porn.
i'm a lesbian and prefer gay porn over straight and girl on girl doesn't make me anymore straight neither should it make you a straight man anymore gay or gay at all
I know a guy who has admitted to watching and enjoying gay porn... but not long after that also admitted he was homophobic... lol wtf right?
I'm thinking he's a closet gay or closet bisexual. Either way, the fact that he's married to a woman makes it even more of a wtf lol
Although I get what you're saying, I don't believe there's such a thing as "group has it harder than other group" because we all have different struggles. Sure, Lesbians aren't called "men" in a horribly degrading way, but we're called "virgins" in a horribly degrading way until we get fucked by a rapist. Straight people only truly "accept" lesbians as one of their own AFTER they have been raped. The only "acceptance" lesbians get otherwise is based on them being inferior or non-threatening. Therefore gay men are "inferior" because they do a sexual act that's seen as feminine. Lesbians are "inferior" because they can't do any sexual acts since there isn't a man involved. It's all equal and it comes down to misogyny. And although gay men do get beaten and killed everyday for expressing their sexuality, lesbians also get beaten and raped for expressing theirs. Even in developed countries like america, lesbians are at high risk of sexual abuse because people believe they don't have "real" identities, they need a man in order to be sexual, that the definition of lesbianism means "something straight men can get off to and dictate to be their own personal sexual property". It's the reason why some people like the OP's situation brought up (I'm not saying she does this at all nor am I trying to devalue her, I'm just bringing up double standards). Women can have a bunch of sexual experiences and either consider herself straight or tell her boyfriend about it and It's no big deal. Why? Because it didn't involve a penis, so It's inferior and it "doesn't count". Meanwhile men with gay tendencies are the opposite because what they do DOES involve a penis so it leaves a huge stain or mark on them. But just because that is doesn't mean lesbians are somehow seen as "okay" by society, they're just "less than". That is not acceptance.
Again, I'm not arguing that one has it harder than the other, only that gay men and lesbians, in addition to homophobia in general, face their own separate issues as well. For example, a gay man might not worry as much about his sexuality being invalidated or being sexually assaulted by members of the opposite sex (corrective rape) nearly as much.
Okay now I'm agreeing with you. I definitely don't believe gay men have it better- definitely worse in some aspects, even though we all have struggles.
Everyone should get off to whatever they want. It's their business if it's not hurting anyone. As for the who has it better-question... I'm slowly starting to get bored of how the world sees us. If they really want me to die impaled on a stick, then make it happen. I wouldn't want to live in a world where I can't be myself anyways.
I don't agree with this could we say lesbian that enjoy straight porn or gay porn and sometimes both are 99% lesbian , same with straight women who enjoy watching lesbian porn and gay men who enjoy watching lesbian porn as well . I think people can be 100% anything and enjoy watching porn of something they will never do in real life or don't even want to do
Well, you do have a point. For some reason, the man who is 100% straight might find something to like about gay porn (possibly find it humorous, possibly to please his GF, or other reasons) and the guy who is 70% straight could find it repulsive because it is contrary to his sensibilities and what he values. Good point. I guess I was trying to point out that I think most uber, uber straight guys probably don't like it.
Just my own experience, I said the same thing about being straight and watched or looked at gay vids/pics all the time. If you are having fantasy about the men you see, then you are at the least bisexual in my opinion. Once I got used to it, it went from 20% looking at gay porn to 80%.
To me there is no uber uber straight guy and 70% straight guy though I get what your trying to say to me there is just a Straight guy Now some straight guy watch gay porn and others don't and maybe some that identify as straight aren't actually straight at all ---------- Post added 25th May 2014 at 10:57 PM ---------- I agree with this
