Haven't decided yet, if I'm going to watch it. I watched some of the previews for the songs, and my head started spinning. I have this feeling though that there is a good chance that Eurovision will find itself in Baku again.
I don't understand why people with the chance wouldn't watch it; I always watch, mostly for the funny songs... :roflmao:
Perhaps some do not like it much? I also like funny songs, funny performances etc.. It's good to have some unserious entries too. :icon_bigg
I'm so watching it, I have a 5-6 year old tradition to stream it live over PC and diss on everything posible with a norwegian friend.
A BBC One twitter is amazing tonight - "That guy in the wheel from the #Ukraine act is still running backstage. He powers the entire #Eurovision to make it energy efficient."
Agree, theres some gold there, like this : Apologies for the spelling but It's really difficult to tweet with only one hand! #poland #Eurovision
I find the whole thing a bit laughable. I was gonna use pointless but if people enjoy it then it's not pointless to them. It's completely political though, and for a song contest that defeats the whole objective of the thing. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the UK is the country who funds this or something?? Sorry my lack of knowledge isn't surprising. I tend to tune in just to see how badly the UK ends up
I can't vote because I live in the U.S., but we watched "Rise Like a Phoenix" in German class and that song has been stuck in my head for about a week.
As far as I know the 5 countries that always are in finals without passing through semi finals are the 5 that fund the most : UK, Spain, Italy, Germany and France. It might be wrong though. And the political part is somewhat true but the song itself plays a big part, can't explain why each year someone else wins if it's only political.
I think Sweden's Melodiavestan (or whatever it's called) are feeling pretty smug about not going with Yohio right about now EDIT: Scott Mills? Why couldn't it be Wogan?
I have never seen Austria in the top 3 or top 10 for that matter. The Netherlands' song is definitely one of the best ones.
What a perfect, perfect result. Europe stood up and actually said it out loud. (also, boos for Russia were awesome) Faith in humanity, restored.
