EXCLUSIVE: Cops sexually assault mother, break 10-year-old son's leg, claims lawsuit - NY Daily News Well....umm Not sure if serve and protect or break leg and violate
Upon reviewing this article, I really am speechless and I don't know what to say. It is very shocking to hear that that young family had to through that. But, this is just one side of the story. There are always two sides to a story.
And my parents wonder why I fear the police so much... I don't know how to respond to this... this is just HORRIFYING...
Well, if true, I hope the cop who did that loses his job, gets his name and actions very widely publicized, and starves in the streets. I also seriously think that we need to make "being a cop" an aggravating circumstance in all the criminal law statutes.
Really? I live in Brooklyn (though nowhere near that area) and this simply disgusts me that any member of the NYPD could act like that - though in a force as large as the NYPD there are bound to be a few bad apples....no pun intended
This doesn't surprise me at all these days, ESPECIALLY if it involves the NYPD. Just look at what they did to the Occupiers...
I feel like his would be something that should be on #myNYPD... Is sad that this happened, but it's also important to not let a few bad stories about the police taint the reputation of all cops. Just like any other profession out there, there are the good ones and the bad ones.
I'm sure it won't...most of these 'abuse of power' stories go as far as 'paid leave' then the cop comes back having been given a paid vacation as his punishment =( ---------- Post added 30th Apr 2014 at 01:03 AM ---------- I don't have any faith in cops anymore...my local police force is made up of all the police officers who got fired a city over for abusing their power. So basically, we have corrupt law breaking cops in my area ( I should mention the police force a city over at one point was growing marijuana openly in the police station, but were more than happy to arrest anyone else for having it ) >.> I believe the saying ( when talking about cops ) should be more like, let's not let a few good apples keep the rotten batch from being exposed >.<
Wow, this is scary! >< Seriously, I know that there are always bad people no matter who they are, but first off, there should be more strict rules to becoming an officer to make sure the people who are supposing to be protecting the people don't end up hurting them, and two, it's like, why would they want to become a cop anyway?? That's why I'm glad that in a democratic government like the US, power of authority is limited to make sure that they don't go around abusing that power. Just learned that in Civics But yeah, this is sad news. People these days are just... *Sighs*
Truly shocking, at least the media have cottoned onto the story. I do hope there is an inquiry about this.
Just another person who felt it was perfectly okay to abuse their authority. This cop let the power get to his head, he isn't capable of being an officer whom serves and protects, especially not when he is an individual that one may need protection from.
IF THIS TRULY HAPPENED (and I can't stress that enough), then wow - these people need to burn/fry/whatever seems fitting. I say "truly" because, well....look at our world. Look at how easy it is to say "so and so hit me! I am going to sue for 1042342342343232432 dollars!" Also, my grandfather was a judge for many years. I have mad respect for people in the law/law enforcement. It sickens me when everyone assumes that a badge must mean "evil/horrible." We all know there are people who abuse power in this world, but there are also plenty who do wonderful things with it.
