Lawsuit filed against Georgia's gay marriage ban It's about freaking time! Maybe we won't be the last state to legalize same-sex marriage after all... It'll probably still take 5-10 years for the ban to be lifted, but hey, at least it's a start! I'm not sure if I'd want to be married here in Georgia, but it'd certainly be nice to have the option.
The ideal, of course, is for all levels of government to back the fuck out of legislating marriage period. Preventing miscegenation (and now same-sex marriage) is the only reason the reactionary majority enabled it in the first place. Still, a laudatory step in the right direction for my ever-backwards state.
I totally agree. I love the libertarian view on marriage. :icon_bigg Let consenting adults marry as they damn well please. ---------- Post added 23rd Apr 2014 at 05:59 PM ---------- Glad to see other happy Georgians on here! (!)
that's wonderful news i as-well thought georgia was going to be one of the last places to allow equal marriage.
