It depends which forums you visit. The Support section has a lot of females, yet the rest of the forums have very little. As a whole though the website is male dominated. As said above men tend to be far less sociable than females, therefore may find it easier to talk to strangers than talking to people they know. Sometimes its easier to speak to the same sex, sometimes the opposite, but there are still plenty of people from both genders even if there are more men.
Exactly what I was thinking. There should be threads like "Saw A Hot Girl Today" and such. I think that part of it is indeed that males aren't as likely to talk things out like women, so it's easier for the men to express themselves here. However, there are more women posting in the support areas rather than the general chat areas. Sometimes, I don't think I understand women's sexuality as well as I should. The "Saw a Hot Guy Today" thread is highly visual and has an underlying sense of sexual urgency. I get the impression that women look for more of an emotional connection, even in who they might find attractive. I think they read that in as part of the package and that their sightings wouldn't come across as sexed if described.
I have never thought about this, but you're right! I don't know why. I think maybe they have to post more often...
Yeah, honestly this is a complete reversal of the other queer circles I run in. Everywhere else, I'm usually one of the only guys (and the only FtM). I can remember days when I'd go into my support group and if someone said "he" I knew they automatically meant me because everyone else was a she or a they.
http://emptyclosets.com/forum/fun-games/13206-hot-girl-game.html I'm sure gay men post on that thread too, but enough women post to help see that EC's female population exists.
Okay thanks everyone! And nice to meet you too person above a few replies! Yeah I will definitely check your thread out.
I do notice more men on the threads. As for some of the women, they may not be logging in and posting all the time. They may just be reading. I mean I get on here virtually everyday but I only log in if I really have something to say.
