I loved that game. It's one of the few games in my life I ever played through more than once xD ---------- Post added 30th Dec 2013 at 10:01 AM ---------- Excellent list! I thoroughly enjoy all of those games 'The World Ends With You'? Never heard of it 0.o
I've loved FF for as long as I can recall. I'm not too fussed on the first 5, but they are good games. MMOs outstanding, I love everything after that (haven't played the MMOs because of paid subscription, not saying they're bad or anything). In terms of games, IX, X and VII are my favourites. In terms of story? More difficult to say. I'm on a very high XIII kick right now. I replayed it and noticed all kinds of insane awesome story and character themes as well as some pretty awesome symbolism going on it. Right about now, I feel like I should marathon a bunch and see which one I truly think has the best story, which is the main thing I look to when it comes to final fantasy. Nice gameplay is a huge bonus though. I'm very excited for XV.
Oh my gosh yes.... I haven't actually played the game because my parents don't like that stuff, but Noctis is the beast xD
YES. I've played all of them except the first, VII, XI and XIV. Finished X, III and XII. XII is my favourite because it's so immersive, and I like the way Vaan is really just a nobody and he's just someone who happened to tag along, despite not really being an interesting character, he's an interesting choice for a protagonist. And the plot is brilliant in my opinion, although the terrible voice acting ruins almost every cutscene.
Can I ask what it is about 9 you don't like? Not trying to start anything, just kinda curious. It's odd, I think it's one of the ones I hear the least negativity about.
It was... Generic. Felt like I was playing ff4 with characters I didn't care about. Actually aside from 8 and 13 it's the most polarizing in my experience. Aside from 2 and 3 it's the only one I wouldn't play again.
I love the FF series! X & X-2 are my favorite games ever! I also have a special place in my heart for IV, V & VI. I liked playing through I, II, III & VII. I can't say anything about VIII, IX & the MMO's because I haven't played them. XII was great gameplay wise but the interaction between the cast felt a bit forced due to some segments having no cutscenes for a few hours. I liked the characters in XIII but the story was a bit all over the place and the out of nowhere time travel in the sequel just didn't do it for me.
12 had one of the best combat systems ever I thought. The story was put first, but it sucked. The characters in final fantasy drive the story. They played second fiddle. Hated that aspect of it.
I see where you're coming from with that, but I think that was what made the story in 12 so great; a force majeure that pretty much just happened, no matter what the main cast did, although they did slow it down a lot. They tried their best but in the end they were part of a game played by more powerful men. And Vaan really had no part in the story whatsoever. I agree with whoever said that interaction between characters was weak; Fran+Balthier kicked ass together, but the rest of the characters didn't have a lot of meaningful dialogue together, although I rather liked Vaan's talks with all of them. All in all I think these were the best and most realistic characters in FF thus far, and they were all quite polished – even though the script didn't do them too much justice.
I played X, X-2, and Dissidia. Of these three, the only game I completed was X-2. It was also my favorite. Switching between the dresspheres is really fun. My favorite one was Yuna's special dressphere, Floral Fallal. Dark knight was also cool. I never got the mascot dresspheres for Yuna, Riku, and Paine because I screwed up the process of obtaining them Oooo I want to play this game again. Time to hunt for an emulator~
omg I bought XIII cause the asian girl in my math class said it was good but omg it's so hard I can't beat any boss.
