KaraBulut has decided to step down from his role as an EC Expert. The staff team would like to thank him for his exceptional contribution to EC over the years, and wish him the very best of luck for his future.
I'm sorry to hear that. I really liked his input and professional insight. That part of the forum benefited from having an anchor to shore up that specialized area. I, too, wish him the best and am thankful for his posts.
I hope that he has great success in whatever he goes on to do. If we find some one else they will have some big shoes to fill
We have more staff than we used to, which means we're going to see more of them leaving assuming the rate of retention stays the same. It's like how if a company went from 250 employees to 500, and they had about 10 employees quitting every year when they were at 250, one would expect them to have 20 quitting every year at 500. Being on the staff is, after all, a volunteer role. So if a staff member is starting to feel overwhelmed by other responsibilities (school, work, in-person volunteering, etc.), they know they can step down if they don't feel like they're able to give the role their all, and so they do.
Sorry to see you go KaraBulut. You've been here a long time (I remember you joined when I was still admin here) and you have helped so many people over the years. Thank you.
