I was just sitting here watching this show, and honestly it's really dark for a kid's show. It was always one of my favorites and still is. I was just curious what other people thought about the show. Any especially traumatizing episodes for you guys. I remember one in particular, King Ramses Curse, that was really terrifying. Oh and here's an extra creepy one for anyone who remembers this episode:
I think my mind has generally forgotten [ie repressed] this show and I never even saw the final episode. And to be honest, I don't even think I want to watch the clip considering how haunting the image itself is. o_____o
Oh my god the final episode is so sad! It's honestly really hard to watch it and not cry. It's Courage's origin story and it's heartbreaking. On another note, the series was originally going to end after season one with The Great Fusilli. That's not creepy, the creepy part is the end. Eustace and Muriel are dead, wooden puppets and Courage is controlling them. Considering that was originally going to end the series that's pretty creepy.
Definitely, though it's probably one of the creepiest ones I remember as it stands. Probably others, but I've conveniently forgotten them. Actually, I think it's CN's overall potential for creepiness which made me prefer Nickelodeon by far. Yeah, I'm weak-willed. -_____-
i love that show too the credits are sooo funny xD and courage is soo funny too i remembered the mummy episode, and that scared me, especially the part when the mummy is getting closer to courages house
I remember the episode where Muriel was supposed to go on stage to perform with her sitar (I think I spelled it right) and instead they get kidnapped by a giant cockroach. More specifically the part where Courage goes into that house and see's all this crazy shite then opens the last door and sees a girl playing violin which calms him, then she turns around and looks like some hell spawn from Satan's loins himself.. Come to think of it, the cockroach was creepy as hell as well. I don't like things that are small and walk on more than 4 legs..
Is it wrong that I actually thoroughly enjoyed Courage the Cowardly Dog and loved the show in general? Plus, that I literally pulled my hair out when it ended. I'm sorry, but Cartoon Network isn't as good as it used to be- the best shows have been canceled
This show used to legitimately scare the shit out of me, but none-the-less I kept watching it. I was truly traumatized for a period in my childhood and given the opportunity probably wouldn't watch it anymore. I didn't even know it still came on, but you know; to each his own.
I really appreciate this show and it's writers. Like as an adult I've watched a ton of these episodes and they're so metaphorical. It's honestly filled with really dark themes that you don't notice as a kid but when you think about it as an adult it's really even creepier. Like the episode Freaky Fred is an allegory for molestation. Yeah. Bet you never really thought about it like that but seriously, watch that episode. It's scary as hell when you think about it like that.
Love. One of the best episodes honestly. Does anyone remember the episode that was a parody of the Exorcist?
Well, if you wish to relive your childhood nightmares, they have released two seasons on Netflix for you to enjoy! Along with a couple of other old Cartoon Network shows, like Cow and Chicken, The Power Puff Girls and a few others. As for CN losing it's touch... Yea, they went through that reality TV phase which was just plain retarded.. But they are coming back with some fairly good shows. I personally like The Amazing World Of Gumball, and Adventure Time
I love those shows too. And I'm watching Courage on Netflix now. I've probably seen every episode at least 5 times now.
Shit, I LOVE COURAGE, i love creepy shit, random crap, especially the one where the alien chickens control courage, and where the computer gets a virus, the opera episode, the overdue library book, the vaccum cleaner hamster guy, the god episode where he steals muriel, oh and the diner episode where the cows own it, and every one with the cat. Well if you excuse me, this is on netflix and i've got some catching up to do
I'm really hoping they'll put seasons 3 and 4 on there too eventually. I wanna see the episode with the four horsemen.
Glad to have opened your eyes to hours of reliving childhood trauma I need to catch up on Gumball and Adventure Time though. We don't have cable anymore, so I don't have CN, but I do have Netflix, so I'm constantly watching SNL 2000's and I just saw Barrack Obama on it (Around the first election after bush got ousted)
