Correct me if I'm wrong, but
a) won't all matter in the universe eventually reach maximum entropy, meaning there will be no stars, so if you don't hit anything for long enough, there will be no stars left to hit, and
b) the universe is expanding, so if you were traveling towards a galaxy at a speed lower than the speed at which the space between the galaxy and you is expanding, you'd never reach it.

 

And there's me thinking Mother Theresa was a myth.
