Interesting identity, but no. I'm a nerd, and I consider myself a fighter, but I am not sure that I can really identify with the decrease of "worldsuck." I'm not sure that term does enough justice to the things that need to be fixed in the world.
...I'm sorry, I am on the internet, right? And the people here don't know that nerdfighers are fans of the VlogBrothers' (John and Hank Green's) YouTube videos? It's a massive and active fandom, one of the biggest on the internet. I know several nerdfighters offline, for crying out loud! I'm not really a nerdfighter myself, but I have enough friends who are that I know a lot about the VlogBrothers and the nerdfighter community.
No. I am, apparantly, of the vast minority who arent fans of John Green. (Honestly, Gen feels he is shockingly overrated, but Gen cannot say that because Gen plans on puting his own work out there in the future and he would hate to come across as presumably elitist.) So, theres that.....
Are nerdfighters the folk who can't take a break till they've corrected someone who was wrong on the Internetz?
According to urbandictionary: "People who instead of being made up of cells and organs and stuff are actually made out of awesome. They fight decepticons on behalf of Nerds everywhere! John and Hank Green are made of awesome Nerdfighters."
Nope. Though that was cute. My only issue with him is his writing. From what I have seen he seems like a fairly charismatic fellow. (To elaborate. As a writer, I dont think he is bad. I just think he is overrated. Even if your only genre interest is contemporary/realism in young adult fiction, there are still many directions you can take your novels. Unfortunately, I feel that many of his works have all gone in the same direction. They are all seem very similar in reality. If he went for something entirely new and innovative then I would be happy to give him another chance.)
I second that. This is the first thread on the internet that I have seen so many people dislike the VlogBrothers. Its a bit surreal xD Not a Nerdfither myself, but I love them both and respect everything they have been able to accomplish.
I'm guessing it's a sign that I don't spend too much time online by the fact I had never heard of a "Nerdfighter" before now....
Been on the internet regularly for years; never heard of nerdfighters. But, being both a nerd and a fan of live-action combat games, I can claim both titles.
