I draw anime if that counts! Poet wise im pretty awful, but I can write pretty well~ Mostly persuasive essays and little creative writing~
<----- Poet So says the summer wind's last breath on the morning hue. Or something. Words are fun, wibble bibble bobble. Also short story though I haven't finished one in months.
I'm not sure if I'm a poet, but I adore English and I think it's quite beautiful. I actually prefer it to French and Italian - I think they're overdramatic and it rely too much on intonation. So yeah, I like to write in an artistic way, but I'm not exactly a poet. And yup, absolutely no linking at all. To be honest I think EC should come up with a better way of doing this; as a musician, I'd really like to use this opportunity to discuss music with fellow EC members, hear their music etc, but alas. At least when I'm a full member I can actually use the personal messaging system and do it there! I do get that it's supposed to be safe, but I'm thinking it may be an overkill.
^ ####### for music? I love art. I enjoy creating it, I enjoy experiencing it. To me art is _the_ way to express myself: what I like, what I hate, what I'm feeling. I wish to become a better artist
Hi Folks, I am no good with paintbrush but spent many years in product design and writing computer code. More recently I have started writing poetry and songs and am starting to compile a small book of poetry for eventual publication and have also started to record some of my songs. For many years I have been involved in the theatre both on & off stage so I suppose I have an artistic streak in me. I am dyslexic and think my muddling up words and my chaotic NLP chunking/lateral thinking has helped me in my creative endeavours. Also a few years ago I had some sort of stroke, I say some sort because the stroke assessment team at the hospital said I had definitely had one only to be contradicted by a specialist later, anyway after the stroke-notstroke I found my creative juices really kicked into overdrive. I've always loved drawing anime and portraits. I also write some poetry, though I haven't written any in years! Would love to talk to other people too!
No linking offsite, because if there's a way we can contact you offsite (could be as obscure as a comment box or a link to some other username on some other site) it's a violation of our security protocols. It does seem like overkill at times, particularly when there are lots of fine people like you guys who just want to share their work. But we have actually had cases in the past where security's been an issue, hence why the protocols are in place. Think about it: for those of you who've browsed the Internet for another LGBT community, I'm sure you can agree with me that it's hard to find another place as friendly and community-based as EC, compared to the many other creepy sites or sites riddled with people just looking to hook up/date. That's largely in part to the tight protocols we keep up here. You can share that info through PM with other Full Members once you're one too. We allow that because through your application we get a sense of your posting and by promoting you we've decided that you can be trusted with additional communication methods. That said, if you have a suggestion that you think might work, we'd love to hear it. I'm sure if there was a safe way we could allow people to share that maintains security (as that is a priority) it could be discussed with the staff and the board. I think ####### would depend. I know that it's like the tinypic for sound files, but depending on the music listed you could still hunt someone down. All it takes is for someone to search up the lyrics to your original song to find out who you are. Sorry guys, but better safe than sorry, right?
Ive got an artist's mind, just not an artist's hand. But I am a lover of the arts and certainly would love talking them with you!
I like to draw, a whole lot. Except I'm lazy and don't do it as much anymore, but more so as just a hobby to pass by time. I much prefer creating music to painting/drawing.
I'm very artistic! I love reading/writing poetry and reading/writing creative stories (especially about animals and particularly wolves). Drawing is my favorite though, and I created comics for my friends back in the day. I prefer cartoon drawing to realistic drawing, but if I have the time realistic drawing is nice on occassion. I love admiring the work of other artists as well, and have an amazing capacity to remember song lyrics. I'm also a great singer according to those who hear me (my mother has a gorgeous voice so if I really sing beautifully it's probably because of her). I'm also currently trying to learn ASL (American Sign Language) and piano! I'm studying notes instead of playing by ear so it's a bit slow going.
I'm learning to produce electronic music right now, and I'd love to learn to draw as well. I've been trying to explore various creative arts, as I've realized that I underestimated my own capabilities. That's really the greatest thing I've learned so far, learning art is simply a matter of constant practice. There's really no wizardry involved. Sure, some people are born with an aptitude for certain arts, or they were raised with lots of exposure to them, but anyone can learn. You might learn at a slightly slower pace, but nevertheless, given the time you'll learn I always thought of myself as a very logical person, more suited for programming and technology than the arts. As it turns out, that's simply my way of learning, through logic and structure, it doesn't change that the fact that I can learn creative arts.
Its most likely been suggested before but what about a sub forum in the entertainment and media? It'd only work somewhat since there'd be no way to safely upload music, unless youtube could be used, visual art could be uploaded directly but thats a bandwidth issue.
^ visual art can already be uploaded to your albums, if you want to. The staff sift through any pictures that get uploaded anyways, so if it shows up in your album, it means we're okay with it (in terms of CoC and whatnot). YouTube has been a no-go because it's really easy to link up through it, especially because it's so commonplace nowadays.
