okay so me and my dad were talking about how carley (a friend) told my teacher she wouldn't tell him the idea she was thinking of and this was it Me: i think its about sexuality or something. him: why? what is she? Me: bisexual and i know you don't believe in that but she's not very open about her sexuality but now Katie...i guarantee you him: i do , its that time your figuring yourself out and stuff Me: well she's more into women anyways him: and what are you? Me:*starts stuttering* uh...what do you mean? straight him: are you sure because you don't talk about boys around this house , you talk about girls Me:*starts getting anxious* yeah Him: do you act straight at school? Me : *lies* yeah Him: okay then we started about how my sister kept asking me to tell her if i was lesbian or bisexual then he said she did her share of experimenting but then i said "well ashleigh would just make out with girls while she was drunk and i don't think she was interested in girls romantically" then he said "well your at that stage of figuring things out" and i just left. i mean i don't know how to interpret that
Honey it is natural to be afraid because we all were. You have an open door to say dad I am lesbian and I just am. I hope you can understand that. He as was said has opened the door to your closet which is fading fast. It is now transparent. I am proud of you because you are crossing a threshold and are hesitant because you fear the word lesbian and being labeled that. Take your time to process that support you have from your dad. Hugs dear.
maybe you should take your time to calm yourself. And find right time to share with your father. Hope it helps and good luck
