Favourite books?

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by Cheese on toast, Apr 5, 2012.

  1. What books do you all like? Here are mine:

Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger (of course, being a 16-year-old boy)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
All the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling
    The Terry Pratchett series

The Hunger Games were pretty good too, but too quick for my liking.

I love the Hitchhiker's Guide series, as well as the first FOUR books of the Harry Potter series (Once magic wasn't new anymore, it wasn't as interesting)

    The Seventh Tower series
Inheritance Cycle (Up until the last hundred pages of nothingness)
Lord of The Rings + The Hobbit
    The Time Machine
    Flatworld + Sphereworld
    Artemis Fowl Series

Instead of naming books, I'm going to name series of books

The Godslayer Chronicles by James Clemens
The Black Company by Glen Cook
A Cruel Wind: A Chronicle of the Dread Empire by Glen Cook

I'm a sucker for anything from Virginia Woolf, but I especially like her novels.

    Mrs. Dalloway
    The Years
    To the Lighthouse
    The Voyage Out
    The Waves

Yep, I also liked the Hunger Games  I actually like the movie more though.

One series that was sooo bad for me to be reading at what... age 12... 13? was the Meredith/Merry Gentry series by Laurell K. Hamilton xD But I LOVED it! So sexually graphic! But the storyline and characters were great!

I think I'm going to read it again... x3

I love Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! If I had to pick one book as my favorite, that would probably be it.

My other favorites are Foundation by Isaac Asimov and Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

The Color Purple by Alice Walker is probably my favorite book, aside from Harry Potter.

I also like Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers, The Cat Who... Series by Lillian Jackson Braun... I could go on for days with my favorite book. I'd rather pick a favorite child (once I have them, that is.)
