I personally enjoy the effects the homosexual gene has on the person's ability to transport through multiple dimensions. ... Merde! Is that suppose to be a secret?
Once you become truly comfortable with being less-than-straight, the self-confidence you gain from accepting yourself makes you subconsciously exude a level of cool that makes mere mortals seethe with envy. You will never "fit in", so you stop trying and become awesome at being yourself. You stop wasting so much energy trying to please others. People notice and appreciate it. Even bigots are grudgingly fascinated. Why do you think the masses defer to queerdom on most issues of aesthetic taste? It's because as a general rule we're inherently amazing and awe-inspiring - unique, not afraid to voice our opinions, friendly, educated, stylish, everyday rebels down for whatever. Also, as many petty dramas as the "gay community" can encompass, at the end of the day we're tight-knit too. In the words of Will Smith, we gotta bond like we was in Vietnam.
Knowing that I have more fun not fitting in than the people who try so hard to fit in Not to mention of course the girls
Maverick makes a great point about how the process of understanding and accepting oneself as a member of a sexual minority, against the pressure from the general atmosphere of misunderstanding and ignorance, can lead to a higher degree of self-confidence and self-assurance. People who don't encounter this type of friction against society's norms don't feel the need to undertake the effort to self-assess, because they're accepted by default. Many of the straight people out there could definitely use some self-assessment (*cough*Newt Gingrich*cough*). Anyways, it's kind of cool being a participant in the civil rights movement of our generation.
After a long night of gay and/or lesbian sex, in the seconds of frantic redressing in the dark, we can mix up our underwear with that of our partner(s) and still get through the day.
We know what LGBT stands for. ---------- Post added 26th Jan 2012 at 07:10 PM ---------- Ah, and we have a home court advantage in locker rooms.
I'm not sure whether it's just me, but I just feel I can be whoever I want, and not have to give a shit about whether x clothing is gay, whether I'm "acting gay" or anything like that. And maverick also had it quite right. I just (in general) feel like a more confident person. Like, "you're entitled to your opinion, but it's wrong, so gtfo."
We can act how we want, and if someone questions us we can say "I'm gay, what's your excuse?" BOOM Pwned!
We get to be honest A sunset can be wonderful and flowers smell great and I like playing with babies and I can still enjoy a football match while drinking beer No macho crap, just openly enjoying what I do enjoy.
I can flirt with my female friends all I want and not get slapped!! xD I can shout "I love you!" or "Call me!" across the hall and not worry about sounding weird!~
