Yes, it isn't the best solution but at least the ALP platform now stands for equality. Most MPs will support the legislation and The Greens certainly will. All we need is a few rouge Liberal MPs to support the legislation. We might not see marriage equality for another five years but at least a mainstream party is supporting us.

Only if the Coalition allows a conscience vote. If they close ranks like they did here in Queensland, there's no way it'll pass the lower house. Here's to the political pull of Malcolm Turnbull, then.
I think that he won't but I think there could be enough to break the ranks. I think Malcolm will break ranks, do what Abbott did to him on the ETS
