I did go to my city's Pride parade and festival this year. It was on Sunday and it was awesome as usual. It's gotten a little bit bigger as the years go on and this time they held it at a different location than last year. They had a much larger stage for the live music, better sound setup, a beer (slash booze) tent, and Deborah Cox (I've never heard of her until now but apparently she's pretty big) headlined the concert. The weather's been kind of crummy these past two weeks and fortunately it didn't rain on my parade. The parade was fun and I met a few people I knew there. I watched the concert from the beer tent where a local brewer was serving one of their tasty beers on tap. I was really expecting some big multinational megabrewer serving their urine-beer but I was pleasantly surprised. When for lunch with some friends nearby and then went to go see Hubble 3D at the IMAX. Awesome movie by-the-way. I caught the bus and went home but it was Sunday so the bus service sucked that day and I ended up waiting 45 minutes at one of my transfer points but it was "cruise-night" in the 'Peg which is a weekly thing in this city where people drive their fancy-schmancy cars up and down the main strip in the city so I had something to watch while I waited. All in all it was a very fun day and I can't wait until next year.
It'd be easier to go to a pride parade if there was actually one in my town. I'm moving out in two years (hopefully) and I might even go to the Zagreb Pride. Depends on the situation though. I don't want a Molotov cocktail to be thrown at me.
already went to the LA Pride. Now, it's time for some San Francisco Pride... at the end of June. haha
Yes!!! I am going to the pride parade/ festival in Spokane, WA tomorrow with my friend and her girlfriend. The three of us bought "Gay? Fine by me." t-shirts from our campus pride center and are thinking of wearing them. Didn't know of it would be corny or not. Haha My friend and I have never been to one so we are really looking forward to it. Hoping I meet some cool people.
Boston's Pride parade is tomorrow and I'm working. I might go out to a club with a friend tomorrow night. Next week is Providence's which is at night...we will see.
I just bought my ticket for the west hollywood pride festival. I'm going with a person that I've been waiting for the right time to say I'm gay to... I guess a pride event is a pretty good place to start. EDIT: I never thought in my entire life that I'd be going to any sort of pride event, hopefully it will be fun and change my views on the event
I just got back from my towns parade and festival and it was alright. I missed most of the parade but I liked the festival. Sure it see a pot of really hot guys in booty shorts and trunks. Too bad I didn't have the balls to go say anything. I did buy two pride bracelets and now plan to always wear them. Now I am really liking forward to Seattle's pride event on the 27th. I may actually go now if my friend goes.
Austin's parade was last week. I went, but it turned out to be a mistake. I was not feeling well and had just come off a crit-sit at work. So I really did not enjoy it. I went last year and had a good time. Though oddly enough I was working a crit-sit that weekend also. I was the project manager on that one. We had conference calls with the customer every 2 hours. I actually took one of those calls while I was at the parade. That was kind of funny.
